Thread: Demolition and Construction on NW Expressway and Brookside

Default Demolition and Construction on NW Expressway and Brookside

Back in May the Valero at NW Hwy and Brookside was demolished. Today I noticed they were now doing dirt work and had the property staked out. So tonight I found that on July 24th a $1,100,000 building permit was issued for the construction of a new bank. The building will be 3324sq ft building with a 2705sq ft canopy.

    Anyone know what bank?

First Fidelity is moving there from NW Expressway & Cherokee Plaza (Next to Hertz). When they leave Weokie will take their old space or rebuild on that space. I'm glad to see the Valero go it was an eye sore.

Agreed, it was an eyesore. I suppose the OnCue across the street killed most any business they had thus hastening their demise.

That's where I go for my banking with First Fidelity because it's very close to where I live. Do you know where they are moving to?

They are moving to where Valero was at Wilshire/Brookside and NW Expressway. The sale to First Fidelity was in the Oklahoman a few weeks ago. The sale of the existing branch on Cherokee Plaza and NW Expressway to Weokie was in the Oklahoman just this past week. I assume Weokie will likely remodel and close the branch in the high rise behind Charlestons and/or the drive thru location by Braums near Meridian. Weokie may tear it down and build a brand new branch all together because the building was converted from an old Shoney's years ago. I am sure it's starting to show some wear and tear.
