Seen a report on the news last night that the city council has still not decided to let any parlors open up or not in Moore.
Nothing against tattoos, I just would not care for one opening up near me.
What do you all think about it?

I would prefer one over the hundred check cashing places in Moore...I wouldn't want one next door, but all kinds get tattoos so the clientele it would draw wouldn't be too bad imo
They would probably prefer not to have establishments like tatoo parlors, pool halls, certain neighborhood bars, etc. They want to project the image of squeaky clean community. Heck, the city code classified my business (now closed) in the same catagory with the above mentioned. All I had was an indoor miniature golf course and bounce houses for kids and families.
What's really funny is that I had to hire a rent a cop to stay open past 8:00 PM. What BS. I35 construction killed the rest of our business.
Moore is a joke. Plain and simple.
Continue the Renaissance!!!
You know when people vent on here is a good thing. What is not a good thing is that no ONE puts their words into action. Come on, nothing can happen unless we as AMERICANS let it happen. My thinking is put your money where your mouth is. I am!!! If you see something you don't like change it. Fight the system. Its all about progressing..I thought?
Thanks for your input okcpulse...Very insightful
Very well Mr. Moderator.Originally Posted by okcpulse

I am in no way hurting or hindering anyone. As a matter of fact I am providing a safe, clean friendly enviroment. I have strict rules on things we wont tattoo such as gang themes, hate, heck my artist won't even tattoo husbands or wives names on people. Before we SHUT down all the tattoo studio's let see how much money they pay into the state of Ok.
I have to agree with Hottcutz about people getting tats underground which are not safe at all.
Well said, Hottcutz.
Thanks BricktownGuy.
I am sure that most people have different beliefs on tattoos, but I say for Oklahoma to not be so far behind other states, we need to wake up. I am sure the Babtist is going to hate me for this, but come on. Enough of sending OUR money to other places, let us once do something ahead of other people and start our own trend. I am sure Oklahoma is not as assbackwards as we used to be. I was gone for 4 years so surely we have progressed since then. Oh heck I remember how long it took for us to approve Remington Park. Never mind Oklahoma keep up with being the last state that does anything, and wonder why our economy sucks.
Ms. HOTT CUTZ:
Babtist is spelled Baptist, I enjoyed being the only state that outlawed tattooing, and I did not say let's bring it up again next session (although I would love that but it's a completely differant topic don't you see?) but I did say that I'm pretty sure your fine tattooing establishment is illegal until November. Unless you can proove where the law passed by Al Lindley (or revoked, rather) took into effect immediately.
How did you "enjoy" a law that outlawed tattooing? I mean why was it on your list of things that made you happy? Most people I know enjoy good food, good conversation, good friends. I never thought I would enjoy missing money that the state of Oklahoma is now recieving. I bet Oklahoma will enjoy that extra money I send to them every year.
Huh? Oh yea all that money... it's like legalizing the sale of forest green, but not lime green, paint if it was previously illegal. Oh yea State, you'll enjoy all them tax dollas huh!!
Pardon my sarcasm but yes, I get very high off of "the money the state is missing"... I'm going to have to call a friend to drive me home from work now.
No wonder our state is so backwards
I wish the rest of us non-tattooed folks were as forward-thinking and indubitive as you tattooed folks...
Of course studies show 98.3% of tattoos are of brains.
Now,now, we all make typos.. in fact just to demonstrate this...Babtist is spelled Baptist
differant is spelled different and proove is spelled prove.. so let's not go there :tweeted:
Anyway, I agree that legalizing tattoos was a good move - for me it was an image thing.. to be the last state to not have legalized tattoos was really embarrassing.
I don't have tattoos but I don't think anyone should look down on anyone who wants to have a tattoo. It's their body!
And, I agree, why have all our residents driving to other states and paying to have a tattoo ( in essence supplementing that state's tax roll) while we could provide a clean and regulated business here in OK and realize the benefits of the taxes paid to our state?
" You've Been Thunder Struck ! "
The money I am talking about is that my studio pays $1000.00 for my studio license. Each of my artist pays $250.00 and then they also have to take CPR, bloodborn pathogen class and other classes. I also have a $100,000 bond on the studio plus my insurance. Now that being said only serious people are going to be getting their license come Nov. that means most of the artist and studios will close because of the strict rules. So as it stand right now, I send the state of Ok about $2500.00 a year for all the license we must all keep. I also have two occupational license I keep up, along with continuing education in my feild. There are 30 tattoo studios that has opened in Ok. That is alot of income for Ok to pass up if we were to make tattooing illegal again. you still did not clarify how you " enjoy" outlawing tattoos. I guess if my life was so pathetic I might "enjoy" lots of things more than I do.

Actually Ms. HOTT I enjoy an alternate morning commute, I like to be back home in Texas, and I enjoy just about anything I do to be honest.
I have no idea WTF you are saying here, but I just wanted to point out that 84.8% of all statistics are made up on the spot.Originally Posted by Spartan

Maybe we can delve deeper into Spartan's thinking to shed some light. So, what is it that you have against tatoo parlors Spartan? What is it about something that someone does to their own body that bothers you so?
madmonk
There have been documented studies that show tattoos of your girlfriend's name lead to even further skin damage once she runs off with your best friend
And what if you get a OU tat and they suddenly start to suck??
Umm.I think I will have to do some shallow thinking to get into what Spartan is thinking about? I still never got a straight answer on the Enjoy part? I guess he dont even know?
Why don't you just submit control of your body to the state already...Originally Posted by MadMonk
