Thread: How is OKC doing in the HQ area?

  1. #1

Default How is OKC doing in the HQ area?

Is OKC still working on attracting biotechnology companies? What could OKC look for as far as HQ locating here?

I think this is one area that needs to be addressed. The city leaders keep talking about the need to get a corporate headquarters here, but I wonder how many companies our leaders have talked with and if we are even close to having an announcement. Something is not working, otherwise we would already have a handful of new corporations trying to get in here. We've all heard the excuses about the airport and the need to get more nonstop flights. Well, we have nonstops to 21 cities now, including the New York area(Newark)and Los Angeles. It seems like there are enough cities that OKC has access to for that to not be a problem anymore. For crying out loud, we've been named in the top 10 to 15 cities in several business publications for the past 5 years!! Where are all the new corporate jobs????

What about a biotechnology HQ coming here? Is there a way we can find out what the city is doing about attracting new HQs?

We have biotech companies HQed here already.

    What companies?

IMO, OKC needs HQs that will build towers downtown.

Few biotech companies would be that large. There are several small ones based at the PHF Research Park.
