I'm leaning more heavily to the PS4
If I were to get one on launch day, the PS4 would be it because it's $100 cheaper from the get-go.

I'm probably getting the ps4. Infamous Second Son, Killzone and KHIII you say for the ps4 and PSN+ for 5 dollars a month? Shut up and take my money Sony. I buy most of my games used seeing it's cheaper buying older games at Vintage stock or Game XChange. The Xbox One is surely something I won't be getting, I have a slow router that seems to disconnect my internet often so that's gonna be a problem with the 24 hour thing plus I don't wanna pay 60 bucks for a used disc or a game that's been out for a long while

The connection is just a once every 24 hours or so connection, so doesn't need a constant stream. We don't know much about used games besides the fact the MS and Sony have the same policy. The publishers will control DRM choices. Microsoft Studios has already announced that all of their games will be tradeable/sellable.

So little/misinformation out there right now, I couldn't make a decision yet if I tried, but I"ll probably end up with both, eventually.

I'll wait and see if slow sales makes both take the used game restrictions and checking in every day off.

Has anyone been able to find if the PS4 Eye will be like the Kinect? All I can find is that it will interact with the DS4 controller, but not if it will have free motion sensing like the Kinect.

Okay, jerrywall, you were correct. You can re-establish your connection if you go longer than 24 hours without going online. You just can't play offline if you go longer than 24 hours without connecting to the internet, but once you reconnect then you can go offline again.

That's still messed up IMHO. I pay for a game and I can't play it if I don't check in once a day.

I guess because I'm primarily a PC gamer, I've already gotten so used to this that I don't see a big deal. It may just be a symptom of battered wife syndrome though.

I'm not a big gamer but I do like a few sports games and a couple others. It's just the idea of having to check in with big brother everyday before I can play that irritates me.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Microsoft rolled back a much-criticized requirement that its upcoming Xbox One gaming console be regularly connected to the Internet and made clear that there will be no limitations on sharing games.

Given the universal negative publicity, it'd be hard not to listen.

I'm surprised they changed it so fast. I was expecting them to release as they intended & then change it once they realized it was hurting their sales.

The backlash against MS was so intense and indignant I think even they realized they couldn't wait to change their policy. It was one of those things that started developing a life of its own, one of those things that was just an undercurrent of intensely negative publicity for them. And the PSx folks were loving every second of it. That was a double-whammy they couldn't ignore.

The thing that's so stupid about it is that the backlash was entirely predictable, and an outgrowth of such a naked money grab that it shows just how numb MS management is about how the public perceives them. Just a really stupid PR move, and someone with some sense at MS said, "hey, time to cut losses and get past this." They didn't want people talking about DRM and used games rather than the new hardware itself.
