    I believe they said they would have street-level retail in this phase.

    Work set to start on $20 million second phase for Maywood Apartments in Oklahoma City

    Over the 28 years Larry Jones has been detailing cars at the corner of NE 4 and Walnut, he has seen the area transformed from a sea of parking used by Kerr-McGee employees to a vast paved desert, and now, a thriving neighborhood that is about to slightly change his own business address.

    Ron Bradshaw and Charlie Nicholas, who are building the 139-unit Maywood Apartments at NE 4 and Oklahoma, are set to start construction this summer on a 160-unit, $20 million second phase that will provide a new space for Jones' Bricktown Auto Bath & Shine. At the same time, the developers plan to restore the 80-year-old former Conoco station that has been home to Jones' detail shop and convert it into retail.

    What an awesome looking development for that Phase II section.

    Ok, all the folks hoping for something a little different here, something with a little variety for Deep Deuce should be happy.

    I'm a little confused then. Steve's article said they're set to begin construction this summer, but if they still need to get these approved, that doesn't seem likely to start this summer. Or am I overestimating the time required to get approval for the drawings?

    First, this is AWESOME way to go Bradshaw. His entire portfolio of downtown development is going to represent an extremely wide array of price-points, with the Maywood Apartments as a LEVEL-equivalent, this as an Edge-equivalent IMO, and of course the Brownstones are unrivaled.

    But I have a lot of questions:
    1. The elevation I really want to see is NE 4th.
    2. The Walnut elevation doesn't seem completely depicted given that the car wash will be preserved (shouldn't be the same scale/massing as the Oklahoma Ave side)
    3. Are those storefront windows on the street level? I see a ton of awnings
    4. Is that structured parking built into the back of the development with ventilated openings?

    Your question #2 and question #4 (the second #4, not the first) are remarkably similar.

    Lol, damn iPad typing. I wanted to move #4 up in the ordering just because I hate seeing awkward stair-stepping in text. I wanted to mix up the length of each line... one of the many things I am OCD about

    I am curious if the parking is going to be like Level in that there is an internal parking garage. From the look of the renderings, it doesn't look like it will be under the apartments like the Maywood Apartments.

    Agreed. This is really great to see. I like this proposal a lot.

    I believe so. I'm wondering what the light colors are? Is it a stone, light brick, stucco, EIFS?
