Now, other sources say nobody in custody. I don't know who to believe. It went from certainty from multiple and independent sources to "that's all wrong".

True. The thought also occurred to me that if they DID have somebody in custody it could have got out prematurely and risked apprehending accomplice, whatever. The worst thing would be to put picking up a second suspect in jeopardy. We'll see.

Looks like a hospital near Boston (Brookline) is being evacuated and has a heavy police presence. Probably some nut called in a bomb threat.

all clear... some jackass called something in

I wonder what that says then about the current regime, using the tragedy to push an agenda then........

Bomb control? Enhanced background checks for pressure cookers? Seriously, what agenda is being pushed due to the tragedy in Boston?

Does anyone think this will affect participation/attendance in the Memorial Marathon this weekend?

Looks like the Federal Courthouse in Boston has been cleared due to a bomb threat. Whoever is making those threats is going to be Bubba's bunk buddy for a long time.

Just watched the Memorial Service for the victims of this abomination. All of the speakers were exceptionally moving. Regardless of my personal feelings about Barak Obama's politics, I have to say that his words were among the best. Especially his reference to the ["small, hateful, insignificant"] perpetrator(s) of this outrageous crime against common decency. Thank you, Mr. President.

I also thought the Archbishop's comments about the difference between "the crowd" and "the community" were especially relevent.

Chechen Terrorism (Russia, Chechnya, Separatist) - Council on Foreign Relations

Some information about Chechnya - Chechens have been killed or captured in most war zones and Chechen terror groups have been responsible for some of the most heinous attacks on civilians over the last decade or so.

It is impossible to know whether it is nationalism, religion, or simple maladaptive behavior that motivated the Boston attack.

They've made some comments and links on social media to suggest it is about Islam. Chechen terrorists tend to be radial islamists with an anti Russian bent. This wasn't about being anti Russian.

Nobody knows if it was radical Islamists either.

You missed the point - again - there is no way of knowing right now. Your assumption was easily predictable though. Could have just as easily been another McVeigh type wingnut.

It could be religiously motivated given the history of Chechnya and the actions by a not insignificant number of groups there.

Chechen terror groups are pretty nasty to deal with. I doubt the Boston attackers were part of some sort of sleeper cell as the conspiracy nuts will say. I think it is more likely they acted on their own out of some sort of sympathy for their homeland. But that is pure speculation as well. Maybe the FBI will have a chance to find out if they can arrest the younger kid, but I am not optimistic he will permit himself to be taken alive based on his actions.

How about we let law enforcement work this case before we jump to conclusions. Maybe it is radical Islam, but let's wait for credible information to be pieced together before we start prosecuting this case.

I agree. From what I've read the brothers moved to the US around 2000 which made them around 9 and 13 at the time and went to public schools.

Some of you are seriously going to have to wake up and smell the coffee. People this deep in ‘denial’ should be finding Egyptian artifacts by now. Alas, even Hitler and the KKK had supporters outside their ranks.

Deep in denial about what? Wanting to wait until the facts come out before we jump to conclusions?
