I hope this actually comes to fruition. Many times these types of developments are proposed but never get off the ground.
Personally I would rather see the mall bulldozed and a theme park built there.
How is the former Crossroads Regal doing? The last movie I went to see there was Star Wars Episode II and it was actually a very nice theater then.
An update on the new plans.

How do you make a mall "hispanic themed"?
Paint it horrendous colors, play horrendous music and favor Hispanic language in all print throughout the mall. actually, I'm looking forward to see how this ends up.
I thought the mall was already "hispanic themed"?
If they open up some good, local mexican restaurants or taquerias I would definitely frequent the place.
I hope it turns out good.
I hope this succeeds simply because I would hate to see the building sit there and rot.
It's not beyond repair. Just needs a little of that human touch... A little touch up and a little paint
Can't argue with that =)
Hopefully, there will be an Official Kiosk
Providing proper immigration papers/applications.
Just to keep things fair and to the point.
In recognition of the human touch.
For which Oklahoma used to be famous.
sorry . . . my thinking was influenced by:
The Border (old Jack Nicholson/Border Patrol movie)
The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez (about a "failure to communicate" involving horse trading)
El Norte (another independent film about attempting to achieve "the american dream")
plus personal experience, in the workplace, with a fairly representative sub-set of sub Rio-Grandian folks--not of the "Brown Berets" persuasion.
on the selfish side
if the XRDSMall-ReduX
goes according to plan
i won't have to drive
all the way to Norman
to enjoy excellence

Don't let Crossroads Mall become The Strange Abandoned House [in the woods] =)
If you think Crossroads is rotting, clearly you've never heard of Dixie Square Mall...a mall that closed and literally was left to rot for 30 years.
Ever visit deadmalls.com? Fun and sadly amazing stories of malls across the country that have suffered worse fate than crossroads. Loaded with pictures too
Visited crossroads Tuesday with a good friend that practically grew up in that mall. Was fun seeing it through her memories. Took a few pictures till security politely asked us not to. Got about 36 pics snapped tho. They were working heavily in the Dillard anchor store. And the Hispanic music was playing full force. I am optimistic of what can be done. Time will tell.
