I can't wait to try this place out!
Looks awesome!
Just haven't had a chance! Maybe this next weekend!
If Sid was there any more, he'd be a stool!
Seems like you could hardly fit a musical performance in that little space (but I guess a guy with a guitar on a stool can squeeze in)
Aaron Newman on Monday (Music Mondays per twitter/facebook). So, I guess a live performance every Monday night?
This place looks great.
Finally got to check this place out last night and had a great time! I think I've found my new favorite bar. Can't wait til they get their kitchen!
This may sound like a ridiculous question but is there smoking in this bar? I went with a friend to the Fox and Hound for Super Bowl and the smoke bothered my allergies. This looks like a really cool little place but I don't think I could handle smoke in that little area. Also, what about food? Do they have any food choices yet? Even just appetizers?
I hear The Wedge Pizzeria will deliver a pizza to Skinny's for you. At leasthave seen a few tweets about them doing it.
This place has a great selection of beer.
Has anyone been to a potluck Tuesday? I'm out of town this week but definitely want to check it out sometime.
I went there Sunday afternoon after the Redhawk's game. It was closed.
Really enjoyed my first visit to Slim's. Great atmosphere, friendly service and super beer selection. Could have done without the horrifically bad classic rock music, but I didn't say anything about it to the owners because they are so nice.
And the plot thickens.
How's that song go again?
I didn't see you
and I didn't see you
and we didn't see a thing.
(gonna miss Jones)
I think this is a great little bar. My biggest question his how did they obtain an ABC-2 License which requires 50% of their sales to be in food when they do not even have a kitchen? Granted, I know they have 1 year before having to prove sales percentages but there isn't even a kitchen to cook in!
I understand they plan to add a kitchen which is awesome. My concern is that by being a "pub" and only selling small amounts of food, How do they plan to do 50% of gross sales in food product? Yes, 3.2 abv beer counts as a food product, but my impression from my visit to the bar was that they specialize in high abv beer which goes against them for ABLE's sake. I would just hate to see a little bar like this shut down due to the fact that they didn't properly zone in the beginning.
3.2 beer does not count as a food product. Some places were able to get away with that at one time, but ABLE has brought that to a halt.
When I was there they had a pie from the Wedge. That counts as food!
Seriously, why are people trying to get this good bar busted? I just want them to modernize / improve the music selections a bit, not get an ABLE raid.
The only more blatant anachronism that I can think of at the moment is ABLE defining the word Pub for public consumption and enjoyment.
Perhaps ABLE should rent some space in Ye Olde Shoppes Nuveax of The City Dell and headquarter/museum there.
Geez. (and i've been living in the midst and the outskirts of this non-sense since '73 =)
