Oklahoma County prosecutors filed rape charges Friday against a coach at an Oklahoma City alternative school, and filed a felony charge against the school's vice principal for failing to report the sexual assault .

Kelvin A. Hobbs, 28, a coach at Seaworth Academy, was charged with two felonies in connection with a sexual assault on a 15-year-old student at the school.

The victim told police she was working as an office aide at the school in May when Hobbs sexually assaulted her in a school office, according to a police affidavit.

The day after the alleged assault, the victim told police she reported the attack to Terrence Harrell Rodgers, 35, the vice principal of the school, the affidavit states. The victim said Rodgers told her not to report the alleged assault to her parents or police because "it would make the school look bad," the affidavit said.

Rodgers was charged Friday with one felony count of failing to report child sexual abuse.

"When we have people in positions of authority that abuse their power over a child ... we take that very seriously and will use every tool to make sure that they answer for their transgressions," Oklahoma County District Attorney Wes Lane said.
