When the 'zip-line' is up and running this venue will become popular.

I wonder how much the zipline will cost? I guess its an additional cost to the skytrail?

From Steve's chat: "The other boathouses are designed, work should start soon."

Good news. I've been curious about how long it's taken OU to get this done...

I noticed today that they are impounding water again by the boathouses. The construction of the drainage system in now on the North side of the river/lake.

The river extension is almost done. Their working on tying in the drainage coming from Bricktown/downtown into the new river canal. Maybe 2 weeks?

Impounding water? If the city fees for impounding are as high as traffic tickets, we may never get the water back.

I find it amusing that there is a German slide factory.

Holy crap! Did you see the base jump thing? You jump out over a giant fan and free-fall until the wind stops you.

Reminds me of a joke. Two guys are in a bar at the top of the Empire State Building. One says to the other "you know at this height the wind conditions are just right so you can jump out the window and it will blow you right back inside." Other guy doesn't believe him. So first guy goes, opens the window, and jumps out. He falls about 50 feet, then turns and flies right back up and lands back inside the building. Second guy says no way. First guy does it again, jumps out, falls 50 feet, turns and gets blown right back up to the window. Second guy says "wow I gotta try this." Jumps out, falls to his death. Bartender says "Damn, Superman, you're mean when you're drunk."

Edit: Okay, it's apparently different than I envisioned.

Yea, that seems a lot less interesting than I originally was expecting, before I heard more about it I was hoping for something more like this

Anybody else think the photos of the slide construction look an awful lot light the skydance bridge construction photos? And if that's the case, could those same guys not have made the slide locally?

I know. A lot of effort to ship it across the ocean.

"PowerFan" sounds cooler than "PowerTransmission" which would be a more accurate description. lol

Very impressive! Is this project completely finished or is there more to be done?

The zip line still has yet to be added. Same goes for the contraption you see on the west side of the tower...where you jump off and free fall above a covered fan blade blowing air up toward you.

Been pondering the free fall over the giant fan idea, and I have concluded .... there's simply not enough bourbon in Oklahoma to make that sound appealing. If ya feel differently, happiness to ya.

OK, I seen the now open sign at the top of the tower and thought maybe I was missing something.
