Roomate's friend works at Matthew Kenny. She said they're closing for a couple of months to revamp their menu and renovate the restaurant. If correct, it will be interesting to see where this leads.

Matthew Kenney himself tweeted the news today: they are closing, but there's no scheduled reopening.

So it will no longer be owned by Matthew Kenney?Matthew Kenney OKC thanks all of our guests, staff, and the community for 3 1/2 wonderful years. While our raw food companies continue to grow in other cities, we believe that our location and the Oklahoma market will be better served by an exciting new concept. Please stay tuned for more details regarding a relaunch later this Spring. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Not surprised, I wonder what they'll do with the 1000+ Groupons/Living Social Deals they sold this week.
On the bright side, G and LS are fairly fast on doing refunds when appropriate.
About half the time they are.
Heard they are going to start serving cow.
I heard a rumor that it was going to be Scottish Cuisine: Haggis King. ("Tatties and Neaps . . . All Ye can Eats")
But I doubt that word on the street--or even from the Tweetersphere--is true, on account of the Celtic market in OKC isn't that strong and I'm not sure that Scots consider themselves to be Celts (that's "Kelts" not "Selts").
Even more unlikely, is the rumor that they will be serving Eel Pot Pie (fresh eels, swimming in bechamel with slightly cooked root vegetables all in your choice of a bread or puff pastry bowl?)
Sorry . . . Whenever I read or hear a bit of hype involving the words "exciting new" it puts me off my feed. Not to mention "relaunch" . . . "re-lunch" mebbe, but "relaunch"? (oh, the pretentious ennui of it all . . . =)
or maybe that was "Eelpout Pie" . . . "boule" is pronounced "bowl" ain't it?
Perhaps Matthew Kenny's new culinary adventure might include "Lamb Shanks ala Le Bar Elephant"? jist axin' . . .
(a person could still order something raw . . . like a salad)
With my sincere apologies to the OP for digressing from the question implied . . .
(and to the Grouponers, et.al., who may have been taken aback, in terms of Dining Value Points in terms of The OKC Dining Demographic . . . and sort of lessened my first dining experience at that old "italian" place in the collonade. =)
Suggested reading while waiting . . . on "the 'customer' and the 'boss'. =)
Please be advised to not let anything in either of those historical references influence your/ thinking. =)
("revamp" . . . there's another one. =)
