    Ah, them were the days!

As Maurice Chevalier would say, "I remember it well".

Awesome pics, but it's making me cold looking at them!

That was our first Christmas downtown and confirmed our decision to flee the suburbs. We were all snug and warm without having to worry about fighting the masses on dangerous roads.

Plus, I was the only one in the office for three days.

I enjoyed the pics very much, and thanks. Was that lonely looking dog the same dog in the various photos? Poor puppy ...

That was a real rock 'em sock 'em snowstorm! Remember it fondly.

That is Jessie the wonder dog and she loved snow and cold. She adopted us when we were in Colorado and was the best creature God ever put on this earth. Sadly, after 14+ years, we lost her a few months ago.

    Sorry to hear that.

    I had a similar experience.

I got stuck in my suburban apartment for 4 days during the big snow/ice storm in January 2010. Despite a few calls from my parents, sister, and a few friends I had almost no social contact. I was single and had no roommates. I couldn't drive anywhere since my crap car at the time would get stuck and it was unrealistic to walk anywhere. Its was one of the most isolating experiences I've ever had.

Fast forward to the next snowstorm in February 2011. I was (and still am) living in Midtown. Completely different experience. I walked and ate at Plaza Court, walked to some stores on Broadway, talked to some other folks walking around, and best of all was able to walk to work while my coworkers were all stuck in their driveways. It was a blast! It was confirmation that the urban core was were I needed to be.

In any event, these are great pics!

Glad to hear that the sweet doggie was neither lonely nor unhappy. I share the same expression and sentiments you gave about your Jessie for my last and best dog friend, a beagle (dog-pound variety), Sunset Sam, who was the best dog friend I ever had ... still remember him romping through the show with those beagle ears flying, his mouth open as if smiling, and his white-tipped tail flying proudly at full staff. I'm sure that you will treasure those pictures for the rest of your life.

She was a beautiful dog, Soho. Sorry to hear of your loss.
