What, because we have "tradition??"
There was obviously more Notre Dame fans there at our stadium than Cowboy fans so dont even get started on why so many Cowboy fans were there, they barely filled up our visitors section.
As a Cowboy fan, and as much as I do not want to, I will take my hat off to the Sooners for executing on that last drive to tie it up.
But it was unbelievable. With 7 minutes to go. OU does not convert on 4th down. Giving the ball to the OSU's offence. All they needed was a couple of first down to run alot of clock and essentially putting the game out of reach. I blame Gundy with his play calling on that drive.
He fumbled twice, lost one and one was recoevered by OU. What game were you watching?
Also, game didnt seem that huge leading up to game as tickets werent going for more than face value really. I did find out it was huge after the game when the team made a victory lap around the stadium and went nuts like they clinched a title or something. Sure OU can claim a tie for the Big 12 title if they win next week, just like OSU can claim one in 2010, I suppose.
Also, Berry Tramel has mentioned OSU as a favorite for the Big12 next year. So its not just Spartan talking non-sense.
Uh, no. OU will be co-champion by the RULES of the league if they win. If OSU claimed one in 2010 then they were claiming a championship even though they didn't meet the qualifications (i.e., winning the conference championship game) set PRIOR TO THE SEASON. OSU was only a DIVISION, not conference, co-champion in 2010. Big 8 teams tied for the conference champioship for 50 years and both, or all 3, teams claimed titles.
It's amazing to me how many people cannot process how the championship criteria have changed since their is no conference championship. This isn't that hard.
This is the first bedlam game I can remember where the best team didn't win and the loser wasn't the gooners. The pokes stock is definitely rising.
I think he's saying that OU got lucky on defense and OSU got tired on defense.
Actually I was just repeating what a friend of mine said. It cracks me up when he calls ou the gooners or the land thieves. He hates gooners. So much so that after the game he threw his new Nokia phone into the wall. I must say though in the end his phone held up better than his pokes.
That's taking it pretty far. I used to get all wrapped up in it, but come on now, there's no reason to through temper tantrums, especially if 30+ years old (I only say that because I know I've gotten defensive around that age when all my Sooner friends were giving me crap). But I jest now, and I do it with more composure. Tell your buddy to call them dirt burglars. That's my favorite ;-)
It's not like there was some freak play or reffing mistake or something. OU deserved to win because they executed on their last drive and in OT. OSU had plenty of opportunities to get a stop and couldn't do it. Good game. OSU has definitely improved dramatically as a program, but the best team is the one that scores more points on that day.
