Sooners will probably drop in the polls again to #18 maybe?
Sooners will probably drop in the polls again to #18 maybe?
I would not be suprised if the Sooners come to play against Oklahoma State next week
The Big XII needs to hire the guy that does the scheduling for the SEC. While KSU is going to lose a conference game on prime time TV who did the SEC play today - without a single game being in prime time?
Western Carolina
Jacksonville St
Wofford
Georgia Southern
Alabama A&M
Sam Houston St
Syracuse
Samford
The SEC only had 2 conference games today and they only have 4 next week. So in the last 2 weeks of the season the SEC has a grand total of 6 conference games. By losing their games early all the SEC has to do is sit back and beat nobodies and wait for the other confernces to knock each other off in prime time. $10 says the SEC ends up with 2 teams in BCS game, and if there was a 4 team playoff they would have all 4.
My god! K-State and Oregon just caused BCS chaos! WTF K-State?!?!
Since most SEC teams don't play much of an out of conference schedule CBS wants some decent conference games to show early in the year, you get the cupcakes for desert.
Agree...the comment was a bit on the drama queen side. Worst in the Bob Stoops era? Yeah...drama queen. LOL
It definitely showed the defense needs a lot of help still. However, the offense was also firing pretty well today.
Jerry Palm / CBS now have OU projected to go to the Sugar Bowl as an At-Large team vs. LSU.
OU's before WV running defense was #61. Will be interesting to see that dip after the new stats come out...
This. Everyone is talking about the Pokes being redhot (and underrated, which I can actually agree with) but OU is going to play their best football of the year. Last year was embarrassing and the Pokes are still a ways out from completely demystifying Owen Field.
Sooners are still stuck with the lamest qb in recent history, and still in line for a BCS bid..despite K-State's episode last weekend..they have a lot to be playing for. Bedlam will definitely be Bedlam this year.
I, like most good hearted people on the fast track to heaven despise the OSU cowboys and love the OU Sooners. That being said the Pokes are going to throttle the Sooners in Norman this coming Saturday. And that just makes me mad.
OSU 66 OU 31
Spartan I can't believe you're one of those gooner fans. LJ is practically one of the best QBs the Sooners have ever had. He's thrown for over 3,000 yards every season he's played and joins the likes of maybe 4 other college quarterbacks who have done just so. As my Pokes head coach would say...you make me wanna puke. Have respect for your team leader...jeesh!
Jones is pretty good quarterback but he has really played on some below average OU football teams over the last few years. He might hold the school record for most wins but it took him 9 more games to do it. Here is a tough question. What starting OU quarterback has more career loses than Jones?
The weather is practically the same but no, that's not going to happen again. Also, we had one more win than OU at the time so how was OU not ranked? Not to mention that its 21 coming into 12's house. Also, I think that was the last year that Gundy was the offensive coordinator along with his coaching duties. Thinking back...Monken's second year, season before that we had Holgerson for one year. Unless I'm forgetting someone... Should be a fun game to watch.
My prediction, oSu 36 ou 44
Jones is probably in the top fifth of college QBs, but he doesn't compare to Bradford, White, or Heupel. Expectations are high at OU (as they should be). Here's how I'd rank Stoops era QBs (gaps indicate, well, a significant gap in play):
1. Bradford
2. Heupel
3. White (title game play are the difference for me)
4. Jones
5. Hybl
6. Thompson
7. Bomar
