Not without any plans to go by for reference! I've got my fingers ready as soon as the renderings and site plans are released!

    1.2.3. Go!

Well what they wanted to do before was demolition and replacing it with an EIFS structure. So I have my reservations..

I hope so. Here is how the 'informational only' meeting should go.

JC Witcher: How much EIFS can we use?
    BDR: None
JC Witcher: How many off-street surface parking space can we build?
BDR: None. Customers can use existing lots or you can build structured parking.

At which JC will say, OK, we'll take your denial and go win at the BOA. Done.

Probably. Or they could go to lower bricktown. All the EIFS and surface parking they can ask for.

No, believe it or not, it's the north wall they wanted to save.

It was discussed at length earlier in this thread.

Bricktown Holiday Inn Express back on track in Oklahoma City
Plans for a Holiday Inn Express in Bricktown are back on track with a new developer and more ambitious designs in Oklahoma City.

J.C. Witcher, project manager with Architectural Design Group, gave a presentation of new designs to the Bricktown Urban Design Committee on Wednesday that he said will be submitted for approval later this year.

The Holiday Inn Express was first proposed in 2008, when a different architectural firm pitched designs that were widely criticized for featuring 49 percent synthetic stucco in its facade and a style that was dismissed as clashing with the surrounding historic warehouse district.

They should hang some nice large prints of these and at least acknowledge what used to be on the site after it is built.

The tiny picture that accompanies the headline on the NewsOK.com homepage looks to show a nice improvement over what was initially proposed. Unfortunately, there are no larger pictures once you click the article to read it, so who really knows?

That's it! I, personally, believe it is a great improvement over the original stucco monster.

It's great to have so many hotel in process but it's time we get one or two that are more upscale.

    Enough with these HVAC-through-the-wall projects.

If this project comes to fruition, I think it's time to consider re-opening Oklahoma Avenue. Right now it stops at Main Street.

I suggested reopening Oklahoma elsewhere on the forum, but was told that Oklahoma will remain an afterthought in terms of people choosing to use it and also that it would require too much work because of the grade changes. I still think it's a good idea, although it could be very expensive to accomplish.

Oklahoma Ave should be opened because it makes sense. They should also reopen the road that goes under the railroad and connects to EKG - even if they can only make it one-way.

Why are we so eager to make it easier for people to drive through Deep Deuce? To do so would remove our only real park, would allow far greater driving speeds and not improve conditions for pedestrians at all. I agree with Sid. Make it a pedestrian walkway.

Just to be clear, I never said anything about reopening it to cars. I just suggested reopening it. I actually think it just needs to be redone to allow easier/better (?) flow between two areas.
