Former owners headed back to Greece.....
Some big shoes to fill. Hope the new owners are up to it.
Is it going to stay as the Greek House or is a new business venture coming?
They will be able to live like kings & queens . I hope they stay safe though.
I hope the new owners fix the air-conditioning
Wonder how much it sold for. That place is a gold mine!
I wonder what would make them choose to go back to Greece? I thought Greece was in pretty bad shape.
It's been their plan for a number of years. If memory serves, they go back for visits almost every, if not every, summer for several weeks to enjoy family and friends.
Ah, I see.
where did you hear this?
when are the new owners taking over?
According to the story I've linked below, the Greek House has been on the market since 2007. Rumor was that the asking price was $300,000. I think that included the building, though. Have not heard what the actual sale price was, but that place had a lot of goodwill. The story also mentions a few menu changes, but the gist is that the place will continue on as it did when the Dimases owned it. Notably, the Gyros price seems to have gone up a bit. I think a sandwich alone is now $7. That little tidbit is not mentioned in the story.

I ate there yesterday for lunch and my gyro sandwich alone was $6.95. I hadn't been there in years before yesterday so I don't know if that's higher than what it had been, but since Mydalmation mentioned the prices going up, I thought I'd share that bit of relevant information.
Does the food still taste the same?
It did to me.
Hi all, my brother and I ate there before each of the K-State and Notre Dame games (yes, we'll be changing our routine due to OU losses in both cases) and the food was still excellent with huge portions as usual. I noticed the Dimas' weren't there for the most recent visit but everything seemed to be the same - especially the food. As for prices, I seem to recall it was $3.95 for the gyros when I was still in Norman so the current price of $6.95 is still a bargain - considering the portion. I hope they keep it the same as much as possible but I do wish the Dimas' my best wishes and thanks for so many wonderful meals going all the way back to 1980.
