Has anyone been to the new Italian restaurant on 39th? I believe its just east of Portland.

Do you mean Route 66 Pizza?
Yes, I believe that is the name of it!
It's called Allen's Route 66 Pizza.
Here are some early reviews:

We ate there Wed night. Food was good and we liked it a lot. Loved the taco pizza and spaghetti. Clean place, nice people, reasonable prices, and we will go back again.
Pizza Again . . . OK . . . How about . . .

i wonder if gabriella's or custino's have gotten wind of this . . .
We ate their last night. Pizza was pretty good. My wife enjoyed the salad bar. Both boys enjoyed the cheese bread. The cost for the buffet was great and the service was good. The inside of the place looks a lot better than when it was Los Mariachis.
Got a pizza there a couple nights ago and the pizza was definetely above average and of better quality then chain pizza. The place was clean employees were friendly so i probably will be a return customer.
Is there anything unique about this place compared to anywhere else?
Can someone give more details on the buffet?
Ate there this week and it is pretty much Pizza Inn without the franchising fee. Except for some monir ingedient changes, same pizza, Calzone, Lasagna, Pasta Mac & Cheese, desert pizza etc. Only thing really missing was the soups the newer one on I-40 service road near Wal-Mart. Everything on the buffet was hot fresh and tasty. Better value for the money than Pizza Inn, as it was cheaper by a couple of bucks or so.
This place is now closed. New sign up for Messy Jesse's, a very poorly reviewed cheesesteak shop.
This place seems to have even less customers than the pizza place did. Sometimes I have questioned whether they are open or not. Can't imagine they will be around much longer.
I've been there for lunch a few times. It's decent, but agreed about crowds, have never seen more than 4-6 tables in use at a time and it's a large place, and we're talking at lunch rush.
