Thread: (Nearly Free) Adventure in Comedy

Default (Nearly Free) Adventure in Comedy

For years I have labored under the illusion that the funniest filmed stand-up comedy performance, ever, was that first Richard Pryor concert.

Today, on a day off, my perspective was corrected:
The funniest ever (so far) is "Jim Gaffigan: Mr. Universe" (Netflix/Streaming/Comedy).

    It is a rare event when I actually--really rather than metaphoically--LOL . . .
I was LOLing so much I blew coke out of my nose.
(The inexpensive, liquid, version of course . . .)

Of course, if you've never dined at McDonalds or Subway or went to Disney World or stayed at a Hotel you won't get the jokes.
    (Disclaimer: That was a "disclaimer")

He has a YouTube channel with some good preview clips. Been watching him for awhile....

Thanks for the clip, Brian . . . (yeah . . . now I'm blowing coffee out my nose and I've heard the jokes three times =)
But thanks, anyway. (it was even closer to free than Netflix)

I thought that I was the only person in the world who had experienced The Marvel o' The Seven Minute Fries.
Frankly, I think it's closer to Five Minute Fries . . . (so you can't believe everything Jim tells you).
And this is why I always eat the fries first . . . Before they begin to morph back into the extruded potato paste from whence they evolved. Temporarily.

Hotpocket. (granted it works better if you sing it in creepy whisper but I love that bit)

It's like a dichotomy approaching a quandry while marveling at the enigmatic irony of it all . . .
I hate Hot Pockets . . . Yet . . . I love the way that cultural commentator helps me to remember that by the way he says it.
(Tostinos Pizze Rolls has too many syllables even if they are otherwise easier to dislike than Hot Pockets.)

Don't even get me started on "Bacon" . . .
I've heard there are people living near wooded areas--at constant risk of wrecking their vehicles on a forested highway--who actually put out grain so that the deer can join them at their breakfast table.

The money they earn from harvesting the visiting, semi-tame wildlife (deer), in a leasurely manner, in order to make Vennison Breakfast Sausage, pays for the Deer Alarm Horns on their SUVs rolling through the natural terrain at about 50 mph in order to afford protection against collisions.

They are thinking about beginning to feed/harvest the squirrels in order to make authentic Brunswick Stew (in a box) for those who would otherwise choose to buy a BB or Pellet gun to keep the squirrels off of the Bird Feeder. The prophets from that will go to support The Natural Wildlife Federation and The Democratic Party.

Sorry . . . Much easier just to go to McDonalds/Arbys/Custinos
and laugh at Jim Gaffigan. =)

    (Well! . . . Now I'm offended . . . =)
I'll bet he could do fifteen minutes on The Chick-fil-A "Controversy" standing on his head . . . backwards . . . while asleep.
But I'd never place that bet at one of those "Indian Givin'" casinos.
Especially one on the wrong side of the tracks where the train horns never stop.
Like in Belgium . . . And Kansas City.
