I don't want to hear one person complain about snow this winter.

Seems like my AC hasn't shut off at all for the past two days, even though I have it set at 83. :\

I bet my dad and his wife are glad they moved to Arizona. At least it's supposed to be hot and dry there.

I'm hoping for lots of snow

On going light rain/isolated storms in Northern Oklahoma should remain north of Highway 51. Stationary front is just south of there, so little if any precip to those south of it.

I think most places actually getting rain got little more than sprinkles with maybe a rainbow thrown in.

Here's a touching story over what was lost in the fire east of Stillwater that happened Monday.

Actually rained a bit in Moore/Norman this morning. Not enough to matter, but I woke up and was completely shocked. Forgot what that "rain" stuff looked like. At first, I thought I had left the sprinkler on all night!

Guess it depends which part of the 100+ sq miles of Norman you were in. LOL

Nothing here nor at the airport.

Also Governor's Burn Ban is now in effect state wide...finally.

I caught some rain in Edmond this morning north of 33rd and Bryant. Wasn't nearly long enough, though.

Sad to see some pretty bad wildfires now burning southeast of Norman. That's what 113F temperatures and 0.02" of rain in the past 56 days will do.

I actually live east of the airport about a mile. It rained very briefly, very small and not enough to matter. Other than completely making my recently washed black car look terrible. It did accomplish that, lol.

Our fires have abated for the time being but I do wish the best for those of you in OK. Saw the Colorado Springs fire from I-25 last month and it was pretty scary. Hopefully, some of the 80's we're having now will move south soon!

Whens the last time OKC got any decent rain?

Depends on where you are...some areas of OKC almost 2 months, others about a month. Norman looks to be tied for highest in the state at 60 days.

There is also one for 0.10" of rain...which I wouldn't call a lot of rain, but it also shows some of the areas above a have got at least this much but other areas (like Norman) haven't.

Doesn't look like there will be any for a while either

August into early September is usually bone dry, and hot. It seems like every year there's a system that comes down in early to mid September that breaks the heat. In this wacky year though who knows.

One year ago today, temps were around 110-13, hotter'n H3LL. Big fires on I-35 in Edmond and 105 in Logan County. Then, miracle of miracles, we had rain. Lots and lots of rain.

Gary England says there was a report of a land spout type tornado in the Norman area.

If true, why hasn’t the city of Norman sounded its warring sirens?

That is correct. KFOR has a couple pictures of it. Land spouts don't last long and rarely do more than EF0 damage. By the time they would sound the siren it would have been gone.
