Construction pics?

I'm aware of the hotel construction on the canal, but I was wondering if Hogan has started construction on the condos yet. If so, can anyone post photos?

Also, is anything being done to fill that empty lot of land across from the Brick? When I was in OKC last, I saw a bunch of Real Estate signs but that was over a year ago. I think the landscape creates a challenge for that area, or could they just have an upper (from the street) and lower (from the canal) level?

As to your 1st question, I guess you mean the Centennial On The Canal project. This was taken today (5.21.06) and shows the sign which and the relative location (looking south and slighly east from Reno, with the Harkins in the background)... I saw no signs of construction yet. As to your 2nd question, I'm not aware of anything where you describe, though the Marriott Residence is being built immediately to the east of that area.

Thanks for the info. The vacant lots I'm referring to are #77, 78, and 81 on this map which is about three years old.

Why doesn't Brewer update his site? It's the official website of Bricktown and it probably receives quite a few hits every now and then. It's completely outdated and uninformative. In fact, I began surfing the internet for more recent information on Bricktown after visiting that site, which is how I stumbled upon okctalk.com.

You would think someone with that kind of money can employ someone to update the site atleast weekly.

Lot #77 is still for sale. Harry McMullen originally purchased the lot and planned a 14 story hotel for the site. He paid over 1 million for the lot. He later found better investment opportunities and backed out of his plans to build a hotel there.


Lots 78 and 81 were purchased 2 years ago, and the Midfirst sign has stood ever since. The dude that purchased it promised a hotel, but so far nada.

I don't think Brewer really cares. I give him praise for getting Bricktown going, but I wish now he'd sell and move on.
