    I'm looking for a good loan officer in Oklahoma City. Any recommendations?

    I recommend Bank of Oklahoma because they usually keep their loans, instead of selling them to other financial institutions. Julie Haddock has handled two of my mortgages, and one of my refi's. She's processed 3 of my friend's loans and we all love her. She offices out of Tulsa but that hasn't affected our business together. She is who I recommend.

    I was gonna say DON'T go with someplace like BOk, because you'd be more likely to get sold. But maybe that's not the case. I'm not sure what criteria they use to sell people, but they sold me within 2 weeks of my closing (and I got sold AGAIN by that bank before I even made my first mortgage payment!!).

    However, the loan officer at BOk was incredibly helpful. It was my first house, and I felt very well taken care of. She even informed me of grant opportunities that I had not been previously aware of.

    Pretty sure BOK is not local, so they do sell off, just a question of how frequently?

    Curious: Why do you care if your loan is sold or the service agent is changed? The terms of the loan aren't affected.

    BOK is out of Tulsa, and owned by George Kaiser (probably a majority stock holder and I believe he is CEO. They have banks in other states, but yes, they are local. I can't talk about mortgages, but my dealings with them have been excellent. I walk in and the vice president knows my name. It's a large bank that acts like a neighborhood bank. No, I don't work for them, I'm 68, retired from Hertz and just moved to them in 2003.

    I second this recommendation. Shelley is helping my wife and I right now (closing on Friday the 13th) with a great loan package - purchase and rehabilitate. More people need to start getting these loans from First Mortgage and start rehabbing in the core.

    Convenience. It would be nice to be able to have all my stuff at the same bank, not have to log into 4 different accounts for savings, checking, auto loan, and mortgage. It also caused me to have to do a bit of extra scrambling on my taxes that year.

    I haven't been pleased with US Bank's escrow people. My escrow analysis has been screwed up since the get-go, and I'm not sure which bank originally calculated it, but they miscalculated and my house payment has gone up $300/month in 2 years as a result. I realized that my mortgage payment is going to fluctuate, but that seems extreme in relation to the amount that I owe, and it is incredibly frustrating that no one at the bank is able to give me a decent explanation as to what happened.

    If you refinance and are under either 80% or 75% (I think 80%) then you can waive escrow.

    Was this a FHA 203K loan? We tried this several years ago but couldn't find a lender that offered it.

    Absolutely second his recommendation.

    Also, Stillwater National Bank in Waterford office complex is an excellent lender as well.

    Both Coppermark & Stillwater NB are 'local' banks. Have had great luck with both.

    I refinanced with SWBC Mortgage Corp. They are located on Hefner and Rockwell. They are the lender and not a broker. They got me the lowest rate available with no up front costs. Their closing costs were half of everyone else and they closed in 7 days. It was a great experience all the way through. Dean riddell handled everything smoothly and professionally. they have been around for a long time and a rae a great company. It pays to shop around.
