    SUBJECT: Citizen Alert - Police Seek Public's Help Locating Missing Person


    Oklahoma City Police are attempting to locate Edward Smith ("Tank"), who went missing Tuesday morning. He is 5 feet tall and weighs approximately 180 lbs. Smith is 26 years of age, but is mentally retarded and only has the brain capacity of a 4 year old. Smith is also insulin dependant and has not had his medicine today. "Tank" was last seen wearing a blue and white shirt with blue jeans.

    A photo of Mr. Smith is attached to this alert. He was last seen wearing the same shirt as he has on in the photograph. Mr. Smith is believed to have taken a Metro Transit bus to the area of the Wal-Mart at I-40 and MacArthur. Police have activated "A Child is Missing" in an attempt to inform citizens of the missing person and locate him. If located please contact Oklahoma City Police or the Missing Person's Unit at 297-1129.

    They found him in Bricktown.. he is okay.

    Thanks for answering that question, Karried. I've been off for several days, so I had no idea of the outcome of this investigation.

    It looks like 1Adam12 got you the info first. That's great. This is the e-mail that I received from Sgt. Gary Knight, PIO for the OKC Police Dept.

    Edward Smith was located late that same evening. He had somehow managed to make it to Bricktown. The manager of a restaurant called 9-1-1 and said that Mr. Smith was sitting in his restaurant. Officers arrived and found him. He was transported to St. Anthony Hospital to be checked over and was reunited with his mother.

    For once, a very happy ending.
