That's really neat. I remember my high school history teacher. We would watch "glory" throughout the year while he did crosswords.
Love it. It makes a very sensible and constructive use of the competitive spirit in most people. People learn best when they teach themselves and others. Passivity is a horrible way to learn. Good for him!

On January 26, 1990, Joel's record label responded by issuing cassettes containing the song and a 10-minute talk by Joel to 40,000 students.

I like the concept but what is going to keep the minimal attention span of the kids that are eliminated in the first round?
