    Any updates?

    That's ridiculous!

Can they at least patch up the canyon-like potholes on the north/southbound Broadway Bridges?

I don't think the money for potholes for a specific site show up in this budget.

Are there any other big projects that they have to work on between now and 2017? You would think this would be top priority considering how dangerous this interchange is.

Just seems ridiculous to wait that long.

someone point me to which city leader I can voice my opinions at. I (along with many) drive this every day. There is no excuse for the four year gap. Take out some loans, get it done. Will be worth extra money spent.

ALso, maybe Steve or another local paper could do a quick write up and create some public outcry to put some pressure on the folks in charge.

I think you mean STATE leader. These are ODOT projects.

The 2013, 2014 & 2015 year budgets are pretty much allocated to the crosstown, and reconstruction of i40 near Yukon and west of i35. I am sure ODOT would do it sooner if they had the money. Taking out loans has not been allowed in state policy for roads other than toll roads for a long time.

Also highway construction protects are not very flexible. They probably can not change anything happening in the next year and two-three years out is fairly set as well.

this is not a city project .. it is a state one and the state can NOT borrow money for road projects it is against state law ..

Seems kind of crazy to me that their going to be working on I-240 and I-44 interchanges at the same time. Some planning there. Might as well write that route off. Lol

Remember how long it took to rebuild the Ft. Smith juntion? These things are, if nothing else, not quick. The end results have been good wherever work is done, but they don't move at the speed of light. It's incredibly frustrating, but i'd rather have it done right than quick...especially with the lack of cash around.

It only took three years to build the High Five in Dallas. This shouldn't take eight.

if Okdot could borrow money or issue bonds to do road construction it wouldn't ... but they can't

If you consider this a part of the entire reconstruction of the route from 36th to Edmond this is more like 30 years

Sad to say, but the ugly truth is that its on the wrong side of town to get any kind of attention like the one up north is getting. People are in wrecks, being hurt, and lives are being tossed around on nearly a daily basis at the I-240/I-35 interchange, but it gets pushed farther and farther back, perhaps now in favor of a rebuild to an interchange that was new construction not even, what, ten-fifteen years ago? And how old is I-240?

The interchanges are both roughly 50/60 years old, the i44/i235 interchange is the last section being done in the renovation of i235/Broadway Extension. They both need work, among other areas.

I love working downtown, but this junction is the SOLE reason I would consider NOT working downtown.

How can anything with I-235 be 50-60 years old? Was not finally finished back in '89, which would make it closer to 23 years old? The I-240 interchange has been a nightmare a lot longer than that.

The section between 36th and i35 was finished until 89 but the rest of the mainline route was build decades before, granted most everything but that interchange has been widened over the last 20 years, part of why that interchange needs upgraded.

Broadway extension and I-44 has been there quite a few years, I believe that is the reference here, not I-235.

Is I-235 not the Broadway Extension?
