Photo from BoulderSooner showing the parking construction behind the Packard/Guardian:
I can't wait for people to move into this building and see them use the outdoor space. I had some liitle kids in my office yesterday who just thought it was the coolest thing to see trees growing on top of a building. From my office I can see that space as well as the rooftop garden on top of the Cricket building on Auto Alley. Perhaps we might see some more of these spaces in the future?
It is open to the neighborhood via automatic locking from 9 - 5 Mon thru Fri unless there is an event scheduled. I take breaks from our office downstairs up there every other day. It's a fun space. Gardening relaxes me and with all the rain there have been plenty of weeds to pull from up there. All of the flowers are in bloom right now as well.
We should have an OKC Talk meet and greet up on Steve Mason's rooftop deck. It is probably one of the coolest spaces in all of downtown. Everybody in that building is very proud of it.
The Packard deck also looks awesome. It's such a commendation of where we are as a city that all of these developers want to incorporate really cool, innovative rooftop spaces to enjoy the view from above the revamped streets.
"The Packard" sounds like some macho, dark bar with lots of hardwoods where one could enjoy a good whiskey and a rare prime steak. They'll probably put a juice bar there, though, or a tapas bar.
I saw some people in suits on the roof today. There were also some office furniture trucks in the parking lot to the south. They my finally be getting ready to move in.
So hopefully this wasn't all for the "corporate headquarters" plan.

Interurban restaurants is planning an upscale concept in the Packard building. Not sure how much space it will take up though.
Great news
What happened to the renderings of the neon sign?
The neon sign was for 10th & Broadway.
I don't remember seeing one for the Packard.
The neon sign is up on the corner.
I think they put it up on Monday. I'll take a pic later today.
