Cool, huh? Jane Jenkins got excited about doing this after seeing online discussions about how downtown doesn't have a court like this

Great idea to urbanize DT OKC, should build two side by side.

Very cool. I am guessing this is only going to be here until construction starts on the CC. I guess at that point it can be moved to the new Central Park.

This is my guess as well.

This. Why build just one court? Do a few because people will be hesitant to play there if only 10 can play at a time... Great idea though!

The letter above says four year term depending on future construction (meaning convention center and/or hotel).

Having played more than my fair share of pick-up ball, a single court can support 20 players (4 teams of 5). Now I want to move back to OKC more than ever before. I would be there playing all the time.

I play in pick-up games almost every week and that's how we usually do it unless there isn't a lot of people that show up, which in that case we just make teams accordingly (i.e. 3 teams of 15 [team in waiting plays winner of previous game] or 2 teams of 4, etc).

This will be cool, imagine catching KD, Westbrook, and Harden getting a pick up game with the locals in the off-season Coolest thing about this, it will prob happen.

You'd probably catch them even in the middle of the season. This was also my initial thought since it's by Chesapeake Energy Arena and in the middle of C2S.

What is so great about something like this is that it allows people from varied backgrounds to interact and build friendships. Couple that with the potential for many of these people to live within a few blocks of the court and it can't help but strengthen the downtown community. You could have someone living in the East Bricktown 'affordable' units playing with someone living in the $3.5 million penthouse atop City Place. You can't do that in suburbia.

Yea it will be cool to say, me, The Beard, and Royal Ivey against KD, Collison, and you.

You forgot about the Catch22.....I make a good...well nothing to do with basketball.

Good to see something like this come to fruition!

I am not sure KD can handle being the 2nd best player on the court.

Someone has to be picked last - it might as well be you. If you have a team in-waiting you usually only play to 7 or 10 points so get out there ang give it a shot. Even if you suck, the game won't last long - besides, you might be able to sink a 3 and not even know it.

I'll take Serge and Maynor once he's healed from his ACL tear.

What position do you play well, catch22?

I'm not that good at taking it to the hole or dribbling, but I have a nice little 15ft jumper!

If I might add something if anyone with the power to do so is reading this. Put in a bike rack and some lockers (bring your own lock). I always hated having to put my wallet, keys, and phone on the ground and having to keep an eye on them. Something like these will do:

Once built we should have OKCTALK pick up games on every other Sunday nights.

I'm not trying to brag, G. Walker, but I can do all that about as good as any average person but I'm honestly better at catching a pass in rythem and shooting it for a 'Thunder money ball' or medium-long 2.
