Thread: Devon Energy Center

can also see the capital dome (right) and the top of Regency Tower. Good vantage point, only showing the impact of new infill skyscrapers will have.

also proves that OKC is not flat, but is rolling plains.
    Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!

You can see it about 25-30 miles west on i-40 in the El Reno area, at night it looks like one big lonely needle surrounded by a bunch of lights. Lol

The tower seems to be totally dark, strange!

No, I think you were right. I have a friend who works as a police ambassador downtown tell me the entire building lost power for a little bit.

I've noticed that as I'm leaving work headed east bound on Airport Rd around 4:40pm that the sunlight has been hitting the angled top of the tower and you can actually see the reflected sun rays bouncing off of the windows. I'd feel sorry for any pilots that flew through that glare as they'd probably be blinded for a bit (sarcasm). Just curious if anyone else has seen this from different directions (although at that time of the day you'd have to be west of downtown to see it, obviously).

What floor are they on in the interior, and how much longer do they have to go?

It looks like they are working on about the 34th floor -- you can tell because of the different color of permanent vs. construction lights.

Yeah I love the color of the lights, Cant wait til its completly completed, how long does it take them to complete a floor?, its seems like they have been on the same one forever.

Anyone else think that the white construction lights look a lot nicer through the blue glass than the permanent yellow ones?

I think they have been concentrating on getting all the common elements complete (lobby, rotunda, plaza, garden wing, etc.) and also completely finishing the first 30 floors so they can move in the first block of staff. That is supposed to happen starting a week from Monday!

After that, I'm sure they will really pick up the speed with the remaining floors. The restaurant will open in the fall, and I bet that will be the very last thing they finish.

Oh okay, makes sense now, is this going to be a very expensive restaurant?

They said it will be upscale but not incredibly expensive; pricing on par with the nicer restaurants in town.

Why would someone want to put a big copywriter on an image that is so easily obtainable?

This has already been hashed and removed from the discussion. Don't worry about it.

I think the focus will be on the LED lighting when the everything is complete. Not sure how many lights will be on after hours when the everyone moves in.

I'm sure the lights will all be on motion sensors once the building is fully up and running, which means at night most the interior lights will be off.

They are going for LEED certification and conserving energy is a big part of that.

Hopefully they don't put those in the bathrooms....I was in a building that had those installed in the bathroom. I had a level 5 emergency and went into the bathroom, 5 minutes later I am sitting in the dark in the bathroom with no way to turn the light on. Had to wait about 15 minutes for someone to come into the bathroom to activate the motion sensor. Fun times!

It has more to do with you bringing something up that was settled over a week ago than it does anything else.
