Now that the Awards for The Good Stuff have been handed out . . .
(And in light of the related threads this Oscar season) . . .

How about The WORST Movies of All Time?

This is my short list:

Battlefield Earth
(Starring Vinnie Barbarino in Klingon makeup. Bad Klingon makeup.
The Scientology behind it is probably accurate.)

Exorcist II: The Heretic
(Richard Burton on crack or some other mind-altering substance.
As a priest. In a tinfoil hat. Fighting demons.)

The Skydivers
("The only film about parachute jumping without parachute jumping."
A Mystery Science Theater Klassic.)

Red Zone Cuba [a.k.a. "Night Train to Mundo Fine"]
(Fidel Castro lasted this long in Cuba primarily because of this film.
The best part is John Carradine's rendition of the theme song, which should provide a clue to its badness.)

The Day the Earth Froze
(Proof positive that there are bad Scandinavian directors.
And in which we are introduced to the mystery of The Sampo.
A mystery that remains unto this day despite repeated viewings.)

There are no "wrong" answers . . .
Except maybe Citizen Kane.

not the worst movie of all time, but most disappointing has to be Avatar. Im a huge James Cameron fan too.

Lots of terrible movies out there and although it's far from the worst, of the more recent films I found Love and Other Drugs shockingly horrible.

Terrible idea, awful script... Why would two great young actors like Jack Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway sign on for this mess? Hathaway in particular was just painful to watch.

A better question might be:
Why would producers put up the money?

My guess would be to get people hypnotized by TV/Cable Reality Shows
into the theaters . . . In order to get "malled" by popcorn prices. =)

However, having not viewed The Incredible Melting Man, I will add it to my Netflix list . . . =)

Battlefield Earth still stands--at least in my humble opinion--as The Worst Movie Ever regardless of intention or result.

It’s not close, it’s by far the worst movie ever made. I can’t tell you what it’s about because it’s not really clear what it’s about. There’s this guy, and he has a girlfriend, and then he doesn’t.

Angels and Cowboys. My friend thought this was one of the best movies ever and made the rest of our gang sit through it several times. It was by far the worst movie I have ever seen.

I actually found it on IMDb's Worst Movies of All Time listing so don't tell me I'm wrong, lol.

As for Battlefield Earth, I love that movie! John Travolta, Forrest Whitaker & Barry Pepper...
