Looked like maybe running telecom cable or maybe replacing power lines or something. Not sure. Median is all dug up.
Oh I thought they were maybe making it 6 lanes. It looks like there's enough room though.
Sounds like a cable barrier being put up.
Yes, it is definitively a new cable barrier.
I-35 hollaring back here, how you doing, okcray?!
Nothing but, Po Folks live in that area. No rich men in million dollar homes. So no work to improve it will ever be done. Lake Hefner Parkway will see additional lanes before the stretch of I-35 between 10th and I-44 is updated to handle today's traffic flow. I hate that area because there is always somebody off in dreamland holding up traffic or some wannabe traffic enforcer keeping everybody moving no faster then 55 MPH.
That is contrary to long term plans of ODOT and also ignores that their are far less people along that road than Lake Hefner parkway, i44 and i235. I don't drive it daily anymore but it was not as bad as i235 or some other junctures around town at jamming during rush hours.
KOCO announced that a man from Guthrie were killed.

There the news story. The poster probably saw the repairs on the barrier after the crash.
Ok, except that if you read the first post in the thread, the OP was talking about I-35 between I-44 and I-40. You're talking about a wreck that was way up on I-35 at Waterloo Road which is 15 miles out of the discussion.
That's like me saying, "a skunk crossed I-35 in Purcell earlier".
it should be widened to extend the 6 lanes from 23rd to I-44
Is there significant bumper to bumper congestion on this stretch of I-35? I have only driven it a few times but I don't remember any traffic problems.
I drive it every day; there's not often a problem, and if there is, it's usually because somebody did something stupid. (Then again, there's something stupid built into the northbound lanes: the left lane veers off to I-44, and there's no warning until you're practically on top of it.)
Well, living east of I-35, and north of NE 36th, it seems to me that you have no idea about this area. No, they are not million-dollar homes, but they aren't "po folks" either. Please do not continue to perpetuate the myth that just because there is a NE in front of the street name it is automatically ghetto.
Well boys and girls, today we learned that demographic stereotyping is a big no no. Tomorrow we will learn why animals don't belong in the zoo.
