Did anybody notice who caught the hail mary pass for Michigan State? It was former Oklahoma QB (3rd string 2008 and transferred) Keith Nichol, who now plays wide receiver for the Spartans. Congrats to Keith. That was an incredible game.
As for OU - Venture's been trying to tell everyone it's not in the bag - you never know who's going to sneak up on you. Well, he's right. It was Texas Tech. Oh, the plans of mice and men.
It's not nice to kick a pup when it's down. So, with that in mind, nite.
Sooners did need a wake up call and we got one. It's very unfortunate that the "Chase for 8" has been put on hold for now, but the boys will be back for sure. It is somewhat unsettling though that K State may be ranked higher going into next week's game.
***Side note: the"trail of tears" comment by the ESPN anchor was way out of line and beyond ignorant
I'm hearing that most OU starters went to O'Connells during the delay
They played like it. They came out all fired up before the rain delay and it was gone after the rain delay. But with hindsight this game was coming. This team is too labile and to quote my son, there are too many busts and former tight ends on the offensive line. It did feel like the team was snakebit, with dropped balls, missed field goals and missed assignments.
Well, at least the pressure is off for winning the National Championship game.![]()
I must say that it would have been a nice night to be a Tech fan last night. I hope none of the OU fans were hurt when they jumped off the bandwagon.
Go Pokes!!!
(sorry, had to say it)
I will add though, that OU's near comeback looked pretty darn good for the most part.
There's still a chance for redemption by beating the Cowboys at home again. Although looking at last night's game one might think that impossible, I've long since learned you cannot extrapolate well from one game to the next. It might not get us into the NC game, but perhaps that's just as well. My sources (son) say Alabama's defensive line is bigger and faster than our offensive line.
Why were Ryan Broyles not doing anything?!?!?!?!?!
I've got a bad feeling that K-State will give OU loss number two for the season next week.
Whaley, you better get ur small butt back in the game. Ryan, play more. No more break time. Kenny a d others, learn how to catch. Landry, sweetie, stop throwing too hard. Ok? You need the word "hard" out of your mind.
To be honest, I am not suprised that the Sooners lost, the Sooners were unimpressive in the last few weeks against Kansas and Missouri so I saw this loss coming! If the Sooners can defeat a undefeated Kansas State team in Kansas next week, it would be a HUGE win for the Sooners
