okay - so we just disregard the whole OU press conference. OU/OSU/Mizzou to the SEC now.
Yeah i hear ya. At first I really wanted the Big 12 to live on and bring in some fresh blood. However seeing Texas just completely dominate everyone still with the LHN BS just makes it not worth it anymore. SEC is definitely the best option now since they wouldn't require Texas to come with. I like OU, Missouri, and maybe OSU going to the SEC. Hopefully that would also get these kids on the football team to start taking games more seriously and not playing so soft all the time.
I wanted the Big XII to stay together as well, which I probably why I got sucked into trusting Boren in the first place. The last thing I wanted was to join the PAC-12 so atleast my worst fears won't come true, thank you LHN for that one.
Yeah, the SEC really is the best option left IMO. The Big XII is on life support and the SEC remains a dominant conference and OU would probably struggle the first few years but after a couple good years of recruiting would might be able to play along with LSU and Alabama for the top dogs of the SEC. The SEC is where I would like to see OU go and maybe even OkSt and Mizzou. I'm not sure how OkSt would fit in but I'm pretty sure Mizzou would have a few bad years as well but come up and not dominate but be somewhere in the middle of the pack and have a few good years and be up there in the top 4 kinda like how they've done in the Big XII.
Blind hope but something that myself and many others would like to see.
I agree with the latest posts. Thankfully the Pac is out. If OU could pull off the SEC move, PLEASE leave OSU behind. There comes a time you stop taking your little brother on dates with you!
I can't understand why the PAC would want TX to begin with.... They have been a PITA for every conference they've been in.
This is great and of course I got it off a Missouri board

For now I'm going to take Boren's word and believe we're staying in the Big 9. Not 12, I can count. I'm very dissapointed. The Big 12 should not only be renamed the Big 9 it should be named "Texas and the little 8". Now Texas gets to control which conference OU can be in? I'm going to start wearing my I HATE ORANGE shirt more often.
No need to hate those guys any more than we already do, The OU's of the conference are allowing them to be the bully. The smart schools read the tea leaves and said no thank you. What we needed to do last year was have the B@LLs to do what 2 now 3 teams have done, but standing without Texas is obviously asking too much from our leadership
If Mizzou leaves you can go back to being the Big 8
truth in advertising would equal = BEVO and his sometimes udderly uppity herd
Time is almost running out. Looks like just one more step until we are tied to the Big 12 for six years regardless of what happens.

Big 12 presidents sign off on revenue sharing
The Big 12 Conference says school leaders have agreed to equally share first- and second-tier television money if its members agree to give the league their TV rights for at least six years.
The revenue-sharing model had been proposed by Texas several weeks ago, but was waiting for a vote by league presidents. School leaders, who make up the Big 12 Board of Directors, voted Sunday and said each school must still approve the granting of TV rights.
The move is believed to be a way to keep the nine remaining members of the Big 12 intact after a summer of turmoil. Texas A&M is leaving for the Southeastern Conference.
*sigh*
Missouri's chancellor was given the go ahead today to explore the possibility to seek new conference membership. Now to see if they act on it or use it as leverage.
At this point, the Big 12 needs to act fast or just call it good.

Missouri wants the Big Ten, but looks like they are going to "settle" for an SEC invite.
Big East is voting on exit fees today... http://eye-on-collegefootball.blogs....56338/32714158
They could go up to $15 to 17 million for a school to leave. Reports are also stating that Louisville will not participate in the meeting.
Big East is reported to be inviting (next week) Boise State, Air Force, Navy, and Central Florida. Most of these are conditional on the higher exit fees being implemented.
This would take them to 10 teams and they are stating they want 12. Houston, SMU, and/or Temple are being considered. CBS is reporting a source is saying Houston and SMU will get the final two spots due to objections by Villanova on adding Temple.
As far as the Big 12 is concerned, they are now looking at becoming the smallest AQ conference in the BCS unless they go to 12. So they may need to out ahead of this and get the schools they want out of the Big East before they are locked away.
Side note on BYU. Tulsa World, Salt Lake Tribune, and now CBS reported that the demands of BYU on ESPN/ABC and Fox made it unworkable. They wanted to have it written in that no games would be played on Sunday (in any sport), guaranteed minimum games televised, and the ability to broadcast their own games (not picked up) on BYUtv. Can you say Texas Jr.?
