Agree. That is pretty horrible taste. Thankfully that person has been on ignore for months since they contribute absolutely nothing to this site of any quality.

If that pic isn't PhotoShopped, how about some SuperGlue (after, of course, the use of some expanding foam or backer rod as required) followed by an application of Dap 35yr. Siliconized Acrylic Caulking? The only expensive part would be the hiring of the helicopter or building of the scaffolding to apply it.

In the meantime, the marble provider/installer could be located and sued for providing an inferior product.

I hope this post was in sarcasm. The interior photos also show damage there. I also highly doubt when the builder in the 1840s (completed in the 1880s) was taking into account any possible earthquake issues. But yes...the answer always is sue sue sue. Eeesh.

Venture: Please be advised that your SarcDetector is in good to perfect working order (and this in spite of all of the environmental disasters that surround and plague us 24/7/365!)

So . . . (Speaking of 1840s to 1860s) Is there, like, a time limit on going after Ye Olde Heirs and Assigns? Sort of a "Reparations" deal? =)

BTW: I've been out of town. The Lawn Furniture Pic--early in this thread--is to The East Coast Earthquake as Triumph The Insult Dog is to Hawaiian Weather Reportage.

Dang, T: Sure glad I'm not out in--or on the way to--Jones, OK right now.

I'd have to be silently cheering that OUR OKC minor earthquakes whup LA/Aztlan's minor earthquakes.
At least today. Blessings come in many forms. Like Blessings of Commission and Blessings of Ommmmmmission . . . Right?

RadicalModerate, earthquakes are not funny. There could be injuries out there.

It wasn't even mentioned on the national news awhile ago. Not much of an emergency.

I have friends in the LA area who basically said "Quake? What quake? We didn't feel a thing."

Well, a troll announced it on the LW yesterday, but I still can't find the news on CNN or Fox News. Probably was never a quake.

Regardless dude, it is near impossible to have injuries associated with a 4.3 earthquake. Just stop being so dramatic with every little thing out there.

USGS.gov...best place to go to look at recent quake activity. No it wasn't a troll. It did occur, but it isn't news. Image below shows the 4.2 and also 301 other earthquakes there. It is a complete non-issue there.

I would also encourage you to review the Wiki page on the Richter scale. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richter_magnitude_scale

It shows the expected impacts based on the Richter number. 4.2 would have be: Noticeable shaking of indoor items, rattling noises. Significant damage unlikely. You have to get over 5.0 to really start seeing any serious damage...but that is mainly just to weak buildings. 6.0 and up is when things get serious.

Well, you should stay away from a Ouija board, because when the pointer starts moving, you don't if the other person is causing it to move, or not. I speak from experience.

There is some increase in solar activity going on right now and the rest of the week. I guess its possible that this could cause earthquakes.

    Severe Earthquake Emergency

Its happening and it will only get worse! Faults are becoming more active than anywhere else! Its highly likely this will awaken the New Myraid fault! What will you do?!?!?!

Thunder, I've decided I'm gonna move into your trailer for the time being. You're not using it yet, so I won't be in the way, and since it is earthquake season and not tornado season, I'd rather risk the trailer tipping over than my roof dropping down on my noggin.

    Hope you don't mind.

Reports of grounds being warmer than usual. This could be hot magma/lava pushing upward!
