Gundy clearly has anger management issues.
There are plenty of other rumors about Gundy but we have seen public reports of explosive M. Gundy behavior over.
    An OU shirt.
    An article in the newspaper.
An encounter with a limo driver in Bricktown.
Physically shoving his players around while dog cussing them.

Now--picking a jury in Payne County to potentially stick it to the OSU head coach? This will test the jury system if it ever makes it that far, which is unlikely. Gundy will likely settle out of court for an undisclosed sum just to do away with the negative press.

The contractor also has potential obligations to subcontractors and did pass on real and identifiable work according to his Petition, so damages aren't going to be tough to prove.

Gundy acted like a classless clown here and is probably going to end up paying something for it. Serves him right. What a toolbag.
I rest his case, Your Honor.
(And I find for the Plaintiff.)

The next time I get one of those Jury Duty letters, I will respond with a link to this thread.

(I wonder if either of the parties involved have received any calls from "The People's Court" . . . )

Are you threatening me? Because I'm an OSU fan? Wow, you're about as mature as Gundy... Get over what Gundy does on his own personal property, at his own residence.

My mom's boyfriend (AGAIN, OU FAN AND GRADUATE) brought up another point. Oklahoma is a "right to work" state. Mike doesn't have to pay the guy anything.

I wouldn't be so sure, if the guy can prove he gave up other jobs because he was under contract to do this one, he definately has a case.

Threat? Surely you're making an aggie joke, right? I don't care if you're a Slippery Rock fan, you have no right to presume to know anything about my motives or those of anyone I know and I have a complete right to take offense at that. I don't give a flip what Gundy does on his own property but evidently someone who filed a lawsuit against him does. He made himself a public figure, for better or worse, when he became a high profile football coach. Do you think he might have some things in his contract that could address private behavior whether on private or public property? I'm not saying he violated anything like that but saying he should get a pass for behavior on his own personal property is not going to happen. Barry Switzer and Howard Schnellenberger both had their problems with off field issues and faced public scrutiny for it, so being at OSU has nothing to do the reason for making my points.

Nowhere did I presume to make assumptions about you and your customer. I was going off experience of my own and other fellow OSU friends. Your customer must be really special. But for you to assume said contractor had no clue what he was putting on because he did it in the dark doesn't mean he didn't go to another room and look at himself in a mirror or look down at his shirt prior to the job cause he spilt crumbs all over himself. To play stupid is stupid. He got what he deserved.

I sure hope that the contractor hires a local TV lawyer instead of an out of state TV lawyer.

Great. The HMFIC at Okie State behaves slightly better than a drunk moron at Hudson's. Such a high standard.

    Objection, Your Honor . . .
Council is leading the lamb to the slaughter (as if he were part of some livestock program at OSU) . . .
(On the metaphorical gridiron of "knowin' whut stuff means" legal-wise, of course).

I'm thinkin' that if the young, impressionable, players are supposed to be held to high standards within the Higher Education Industry, how much moreso the coach of those players?

But I haven't known stuff and been wrong before.

What Blundy did was disgusting and pathetic. It sure revealed the real person...crybaby...madman...lunatic...miscreation of mother nature. OSU is going down this year.

No thanks needed, and I'm a Cowboy Fan, the University of Wyoming Cowboy's, played football there for one year until knee problems brought that to an end.

Yeah, to be honest, I think this is kind of embarrassing for OU, as an OU fan myself. I like OU as someone who studied there and knows where Norman is, but let's be honest, a lot of raging fans need to be calmed down. If you get a contractor job (contractor obviously did not go to OU) at Mike Gundy's house, you should probably try and be respectful to your employer. If you can't be respectful to your employer, and because this IS an at-will employment state, you risk being terminated with your boss's mood swings if you're not going to suck up and be respectful at least.

If I was the head coach ANYWHERE I would of course fire some little twerp who does something uber tacky like wearing my main rival's stuff while I'm paying him.

However anytime OSU comes up in the news it does seem rather embarrassing for them on some level. That is tragic.

They are two state university schools. The ridiculous athletic rivalry shouldn't carry over to such petty things as who wears a t-shirt and it being seen as "disrespectful" if somebody wears a t-shirt from another state school to do work at an employee of another state school. Gundy and Stoops aren't Gods. They go to the toilet the same as anybody else. It takes somebody really insecure who can't just say, "I see you're a Sooner - you know my brother works there; but we'll whip your butts this year (laughs)."

I can't believe this thread has gone on as long as it has. What petty silliness.

    Contractors are not employees.

Well, maybe the introduction of a few facts that the trim carpenter(contractor) left out of the story in the paper will change a few minds.
Now we can argue as to whether the head coach at OSU has the right to control the apparel of people working at his private redidence. I think he does, not that I agree with it, but I think he undoubtedly does.
The contractor claims that this was an out of the blue tirade in which he offered to turn his shirt(the one he accidentally put on in the dark) inside out to calm the situation.
This was actually the third time he wore an OU shirt to the Gundys house. The first time he was asked to please not wear one again. The second time he was asked to turn it inside out. He was asked to do it, he didn't offer. The third occasion is the one that we are all talking about. Seems pretty obvious that he intended to get a rise out of the Gundys. Mission accomplished.
Before I get accused of being an OSU apologist, I've had season tickets at OU for decades. This guy reminds me of the fans my family calls "gooner" fans. We delight in seeing them led out of the stadium by security for badgering(and sometimes threatening) the opposing teams fans.
The contractor was actually telling a story very similar to the above one until he decided to sue. Sounds to me like he was asking for a reaction, just not the one he got.

Thanks for the info, was this in the paper or do you have a secret source.
