I'd actually be okay with it being more adult oriented, not everything has to have a playplace. But, of course this is all speculation.

I'm just gong to assume it's still a pizza place with a good bar. I dont see Hideaway making a restaurant more of a bar type establishment. While having a drink with a pie sounds good, I dont think I'll ever be going there just to hang out at the bar. Who knows though, maybe it's that good of a bar. I'd still bet you'll be ok to bring the kiddos without much issue.

It isn't irrelevant to me - I have kids who like pizza. If it is a bar, that serves pizza then we won't be going. If it is pizza place that serves beer then we will be going. There are pizza places we can go to now at 10PM (like after a movie) and it will still be kid friendly. Then there are other places we can go after 10PM and all it is people drinking (not kid friendly).

The Hideaway brand is pizza-first. I don't see that changing too much even if there is a bigger bar.

Besides, picky much? You want a family-friendly pizza place at 10pm in a downtown metro area? Sheesh.

For the record, I am not opposed to bars in restaurants, and that wasn't the question I was asking. My question was more directed at, can I go in on a Friday night with teenage kids and have a pizza at 10PM, or is there going to be loud music playing at an overcrowded bar with 40 guys trying to hit on every woman that comes through the door. My guess is that no - guys are not going to go to Hideaway Pizza looking for a hook-up, but based on the description of the size of the bar area, I just thought I would ask.

Because guys looking for a hook-up doesn't happen anywhere else? I think you have a very one-dimensional outlook on this phenomenon. There are restaurants now that actually ban small kids. You can't go to the mall without seeing people cruising. What does Hideaway downtown have to do with that happening?

While the bar is long, is only occupies about 10 percent of the building. It is also semi-separated from part of the building by high walls on booths. I wouldn't hesitate to bring a child there if I sat on the south side of the building.

Risk what? Risk your teenager seeing people drinking at a bar? I'm willing to bet they've seen this before. Here's a thought. Just go check it out. You'll be able to tell instantly upon walking in the door if the scene in there doesn't meet your approval. If not, then leave. But don't judge the place by your chat board assumptions. Just go get the "facts" before you dismiss this place, or any place.

No. You can take your kids to some other bar.

It isn't about seeing someone drink beer. It is about not having to eat in a loud crowded location with people 2/3 of the way to drunk. I have taken my kids to The Mont for lunch or early dinner, but I would never take them there at 10PM on a Friday night. That is all I was trying to ask.
