Thread: Automobile Alley

I'd actually be okay with it being more adult oriented, not everything has to have a playplace. But, of course this is all speculation.

I'm just gong to assume it's still a pizza place with a good bar. I dont see Hideaway making a restaurant more of a bar type establishment. While having a drink with a pie sounds good, I dont think I'll ever be going there just to hang out at the bar. Who knows though, maybe it's that good of a bar. I'd still bet you'll be ok to bring the kiddos without much issue.

The Hideaway brand is pizza-first. I don't see that changing too much even if there is a bigger bar.

Besides, picky much? You want a family-friendly pizza place at 10pm in a downtown metro area? Sheesh.

I don't think that's picky at all. A downtown should easily have that.

There are bars in most restaurants, even family ones like Olive Garden. This isn't a big deal.

I agree, there are usually bars in the restaurants I go to, espescially in downtown.

    Love that sign BTW.

For the record, I am not opposed to bars in restaurants, and that wasn't the question I was asking. My question was more directed at, can I go in on a Friday night with teenage kids and have a pizza at 10PM, or is there going to be loud music playing at an overcrowded bar with 40 guys trying to hit on every woman that comes through the door. My guess is that no - guys are not going to go to Hideaway Pizza looking for a hook-up, but based on the description of the size of the bar area, I just thought I would ask.

All 12 kids in the Downtown area will be so dismayed.

Yep, no kids go to Redhawk games, Thunder games, Baron games, or events at the Cox Center.

Wow, I guess this is the most important question in downtown development, now. Like, gee that is a really cool new loft project in Bricktown, but is the place kid friendly?

Shucks! I guess the Hideaway at the ballpark won't do!

Because guys looking for a hook-up doesn't happen anywhere else? I think you have a very one-dimensional outlook on this phenomenon. There are restaurants now that actually ban small kids. You can't go to the mall without seeing people cruising. What does Hideaway downtown have to do with that happening?

Same here, and I live downtown, in which I'm guessing the OP probably does not.

You know - forget I asked. I decided not to risk it and will be taking my non-so-small teenage kids some place else. Thanks for the help.

While the bar is long, is only occupies about 10 percent of the building. It is also semi-separated from part of the building by high walls on booths. I wouldn't hesitate to bring a child there if I sat on the south side of the building.

Risk what? Risk your teenager seeing people drinking at a bar? I'm willing to bet they've seen this before. Here's a thought. Just go check it out. You'll be able to tell instantly upon walking in the door if the scene in there doesn't meet your approval. If not, then leave. But don't judge the place by your chat board assumptions. Just go get the "facts" before you dismiss this place, or any place.

If that is Kerry, why isn't he in J'ville. If he is here we should be welcoming him 'Home." Perhaps Just the Facts is NOT him afterall. Easy way out-- Are you Kerry?

No. You can take your kids to some other bar.

If you are just taking your teenage kids out to eat at 10 pm, you probably don't care anyway. LOL.

Thats smart, go somewhere else because you were upset by some posters that are not affiliated with Hideaway in any way.

Thank you. That is the kind of answer I was looking for.

It isn't about seeing someone drink beer. It is about not having to eat in a loud crowded location with people 2/3 of the way to drunk. I have taken my kids to The Mont for lunch or early dinner, but I would never take them there at 10PM on a Friday night. That is all I was trying to ask.
