What floor are they working on now and what's the height (approx.)?
Thunder,I like this shot of The devon tower in the background with pedestians in an alley on brick lined streets!
Way cool shot. Gives a real urban feel to OKC.
It would be cool if there were stores in that alley.
Here are some recent shots from http://devontower.blogspot.com/:
By the way, I've been driving southbound on Harvey to the parking garage in the morning, and I don't recall if the intent is to leave it 2 way or not, but I hope they do - the view coming down the hill is great.
DT does show similarity to IDS Tower. Compare 4th pic above to this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...2005-09-27.jpg
I found something cool at work today (I almost threw away) that some may have seen already. I'll post it later after I get home after 3pm.
Sorry if people have seen this already. I was cleaning a car and there was a crumpled up map. I normally throw these away without thinking much. It was the last car at the end of the day, so I wasn't in a hurry so I folded it up. I never noticed until then it was a new map. This is what caught my eye...
Anyone ever see actual images anywhere, and not scanned? High resolution?
The map has www.DowntownOKC.com, okcchamber.com, okc.gov and okccvb.org websites on it.
Haven't seen it, but it must be from a year, or so, ago. The DT looks a tad too tall IMO. The height estimate was probably made a while back...probably before it was verified that LEDs were going to be apart of the nighttime experience. My guess is early April 2010. Early playoff games last year; based on signage atop the ol' Kerr McGee building.
I could be wrong.
Looked over the map...
It's not a bad map at all. Has all the Districts color-coded. Even has the "FUTURE I-40 (2012)" highway route. Has certain main attractions as black silhouettes. The boathouses, etc.Printed 5/2011
I really like the top picture with the word "MAP" on it. Devon Tower looks marvelous with the reds, oranges, yellows, and blues: it's be the last building in Oklahoma City the sunset touches.
Could these be something that is distributed only at the airport?
Downtown OKC made these maps and are distributing them. It is a really nice map! They did a great job.
Great find Will. Can you post more images of it please?
I think it would be cool if someone would photoshop King Kong on top of the biulding. hehehe
I'm at Sheridan & Hudson across from the Auditorium. The last thing I expected to see were sprinklers going on the roof. The kind that spray about ten streams straight up and go up and down. Any ideas?
