I don't care much whether it's going to increase the height or not. That's going to be one amazing dinner view either way!

Holy **** I was told this a few months ago by a man who manages a certain high-rise apartment complex in downtown where a certain equipment operator lives and I didn't believe him!
I've heard the same rumor from a certAin man who lives in a shoe
if you recall my last post to this thread, I assumed going up would only be logical since they need 50 floors of office and now will have 2 floors of restaurant/observation. This was before Pete's 'announcement', so I am glad Pete more or less confirmed what I and a few others on this forum had always speculated.
I think it will top at least to the 908 feet that was the first announced height after the 925 reduction and I wouldn't be surprised to see taller than 20 feet floors for the top 2 (or even top 5-6).
Talk about an amazing sky restaurant, "windows on the plains".
Cheers.
Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!
Went down to do some video and found that they must be using a "skeleton crew". The cranes were not in use but had a cool American flag hanging from Crane 1. The smaller one near the Rotunda had another one hanging. Kind of put a damper on what I was going for, but still got a few shots. You'll know what I mean at the end of the month. I guess it will be this way all weekend right? I'll only have Monday and Tuesday to finish the new project I'm doing.
The four elevators were being used, and a few people were on the Rotunda. Must be a night crew amount of workers.
Unforsaken, yes they are on skeleton crew for holidays; I took pics of them raising the flags earlier today, I will post pics when I get time.
New video coming up today. Watch for it. It turned out pretty well. Something totally different.
Maybe a bit early, but has anyone else thought that the East Garage, just north of the tower, is ripe for a capacity increase like the West Garage? OR... is this space being saved for a future extension of the Devon complex? I only comment as it now seems totally out of scale with everything else around it. Does Devon actually own it?
David, that garage is owned by the group that owns Oklahoma Tower, Leadership Square and City Place. It was purchased from the city so they could provide at least some spaces to their tenants.
From what I understand, that section was not built with the same ability to expand.
Devon seemed pretty careful in the planning process to make sure they had enough office space and parking for quite some time into the future. If they were to expand, it seems likely they would go to the west across Hudson and take over some or all the property owned by Preftakes.
Thanks for the clarification Peter. Let's hope that Devon does not build on the lot of that beautiful art deco building!
Steve is teasing us again.. From his facebook:
The things I'm tracking for downtown OKC right now just blow me away... if even a fraction of it comes true, the excitement won't end with Devon Energy Center, Project 180 and MAPS 3....
Yeah, sorry. Around 9pm. I could have had it up earlier but got around to watching movies and resting. I was out Tuesday night from 2pm past 10pm. I'm going out of town Thursday early morning and will be gone all day doing video for a radio station and Jed Castles from News 9.
Here's something different. I hope folks at Devon get a chance to see it. I think this is the direction I'm going now.
EDIT: 2 hour encoding time...as of 9:18pm.
^^I absolutely love that video William!Love how the music gets faster during the day and slower when night falls, and I really like the ending!Great video!
in a word, SWEET
Fantastic William!!!
Very, very impressive. Really appreciate you documenting this project all the way along.
I hope another tower is built in OKC just so I can keep on seeing william's videos!
The HD version is still encoding. I didn't encode for 720p Vimeo on this one like the others.
Wow
Very cool video. Is that music by Philip Glass?
Great video sir!
