Where is the best Thai restaurant in the metro?
Where is the best in downtown/uptown?

My favorite is Panang at SW 89th and Penn.
Pho Saigon on Classen is totally money. Best curry in town!
This is my favorite in the metro too. I order from the menu, not the buffet. Excellent Thai food, quality is second to none, always fresh. Also I tell them not to make the pad thai overly sweet, for my taste. Very, very good.
I live closer to downtown / uptown and it is unbelievable that I haven't found a decent Thai restaurant in near the Asian district. For my taste the food has to be excellent, but so does the cleanliness of the restaurant.
I love Thai Food. I've eaten it all across this country. I know exactly what you are talking about. I live a heck of lot closer to the Asian district than to SW OKC. I've yet to find a Thai Restaurant in the downtown/uptown area that appeals to me. I've eaten at the Thai House several times and the food is okay but it always seems dirty to me. I was traveling all the way to Norman for Thai at Sweet Basil for the longest time until I discovered Panang.
another vote for panang... love their spicy basil noodles. -M
Tana Thai on May.
I love Thai Delight up here at 2nd and Bryant in Edmond...clean...great food... sharp, subtle, and efficient service.
Thanks for the tip on Panang - I'll check it out. It is even in my neck of the woods.
I'd heard lots of great things about Panang, but it wasn't my favorite when I tried it. I've always liked Thai Kitchen downtown, though I haven't been in a while. Thai Palace in Edmond is also very good, but don't go if you're in a hurry.
Not sure when you tried Panang. Also I can't say it enough, but I do not eat from any buffet, never is the same.
There was a period of time when the main chef had left Panang. Not sure who was cooking, but it wasn't the same while she was absent. She is back now and I believe is also now the owner and chef too.
I need to revisit downtown Thai Kitchen.
Anyone tried Moon Thai, 23rd & Penn?
I will definitely give Panang another try. Thanks for the info.
I've tried Moon Thai only once and it was several years ago. I was not impressed enough to go back.
We have so many Thai options here in OKC, and most of them are pretty good, so it's tough for a place to truly stand out, IMO.
Panang is really really good. I have never seen a buffet there, not sure what you folks are talking about.
As the resident Bangkok poster, I strongly endorse Thai Kitchen downtown. Good food. Nice folks.
Thai Kitchen is good stuff...
I also love Thai Kitchen. I've never eaten in the restaurant...I'm a carryout person...but absolutely delicious.
I eat Sala Thai pretty much every week, since it's right down the street from my house. It can be hit or miss. Then again, however, I am the type who always orders the same thing (yellow curry with tofu, EXTRA SPICY!!).
Charm Thai on NW 50th and almost to MacArthur if your going west. North side of the street. Pretty close and the other side of the street from Able's Mexican which is also fantastic!
Thai Kitchen downtown is good though I haven't eaten there in a long time.
Other recommendations around town, particularly West or NW?
Lemongrass in west Edmond. Definitely is best Thai.
Thanks! I'll try the one in that thread that's closet to home and work my way out.
Thumbs up for the recommendation on Charm Restaurant NW 50th just east of MacArthur.
Come back here and write some reviews...I love Thai!
