Default Trip To OKC: What To Do?

Hello All. I'm going to be visiting OKC on the 27th and 28th and am looking for some inexpensive things to do while I'm there.

I'm planning on checking out the OKC National Memorial on the 28th, but I'm not sure what I'll do the rest of the time. Any suggestions for shopping malls, other tourist attractions, etc.? Also, what are some of the best (non-franchise) restaurants in town, specifically, BBQ restaurants?

    Thanks for the advice!

BBQ: Iron Starr Urban BBQ, on 36th and Shartel is a must. Get the fancy mac and cheese!

Attractions: OKC Art Museum (downtown) has a standing Chihuly exhibit and is a must-see. They also show films there.

Bricktown offers a lot of "touristy" things like the canal/boat rides, art, restaurants, a movie theater, piano bars, and other family-friendly entertainment.

We have malls, definitely, but you're not going to find anything special there. Penn Square would probably be your best bet, at NW Expressway and Pennsylvania.

The Warren Theater in Moore is quite nice, and offers 21 and up balconies with adult beverages during the movies.

The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum is always a nice choice.

Go to a Thunder game. They are playing the Lakers while you are here.

There are also lots of other great local establishments for drinks and food. Here is a list I would recommend for you to start.

Food: Iguana Lounge, Iron Starr BBQ, The Wedge, Sauced (there are so many more but my mind is blanking on me, someone will jump in, though!)

Drinks: Red Prime (great happy hour snacks at $3 and free sweet potato chips), Paseo Grill (no drink specials but free fried green beans that will repeatedly rock your world), Speakeasy, RePublic, Bricktown Brewery, and if you're feeling adventurous, Edna's.

Most of all, enjoy your stay! I think you'll find the people very friendly and helpful.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that you should check out some of the art galleries in the Paseo (if they are open while you are here...Sunday and Monday are odd days for some places), the Botanical Gardens, and the zoo!
