Didn't this happen over the summer? Or did it recently resell?

I used to clean French's dental office a long time ago in Midwest City. Seemed like an interesting character.

Why is there a quote from Jane Jenkins in every downtown real estate article? Obviously a really important lady behind the scenes... (sarcasm)

I wonder what she has accomplished in the almost last 2 years.

her #1 job since she was hired has now just been accomplished .. it was getting the BID expanded and approved .. and with all of the businesses and different interests i'm sure that was no easy task

Well, I don't mean to dog her, because she has a hard job. She worked miracles in Boulder and now she's come up against all the negative forces of a big city. She's done well compared to what can be realistically expected of her, here--I just think it puts her in a precarious position, or at the very least looks awkward, when she gets quoted in every article. Steve, is there someone at the Oke telling you this is a good idea? That sounds like an editor thing to me (who typically don't know squat, but like titles).

No to mention Steve needs to stay on good terms with key DT players for stories.

Oh yeah, because I don't do anything to annoy folks. You clearly don't know me. Jane Jenkins is not quoted in every downtown real estate story, and she is one of many who has, at one point or another, been very upset with some of my coverage. But Jane is experienced in downtown development, and is a good person to get insight from, time to time.

I know you better than most of the people on this forum, and have known you for many years. Maybe not as good as our mutual friend Doug, but come on, don't say you dont make good with DT players for stories, and yes I know you piss people off too, we all do, myself and Spartan included. I never said you didn't annoy or antagonize story subjects. But lets be honest, its clear you've been honest you don't exactly embrace new media or anonymity, despite the traditional press using anonymity for years.

Haha, it's a lot of fun watching Steve do his thing, asking questions, ticking people off, just speakin the truth..

I think it can be said that Steve is pro-people, anti-establishment, in how he does his coverage of downtown. I'm not sure he'd agree with that though!

Metro, you definitely DON'T know me and you don't know how I do my job. I DO KNOW you are scraping very old data in creating these newest threads. Kingman: old. Salvation Army: old. FEMA: old. Now let's just call it a day. I get it - you don't respect me or like the work I do. That's cool. I think I'll be able to survive this crushing moment and still enjoy my weekend.
The sky is blue Metro. Moving on.

This could go on, but it's calling the kettle black with us. As far as old news, it may be, I just went through OKC Businesses January 2011 records, that as my source. And often, but not always, they beat the Oklahoman to the punch.

Metro, I'm convinced you rarely if ever read The Oklahoman. And I'm pretty much through with this discussion.

Steve, he definitely reads the Oak. He used to copy your stories verbatim, and post them here.

Actually, M, it's in the February 2011 issue of OKCBiz magazine. The article was a "best of 2010" story, in which the building was originally reported (in the magazine) last year.

I just got a call from my friend at OKC Business. She's quite amused by all of this.

She will, of course, argue that a person on this board is absolutely correct in his observation that she routinely kicks my butt in getting downtown news.
