They completely demolished it and removed the debris over the last couple of days. Thought I'd post in case anyone is interested. Can't tell what is going in, anyone know?

good, that nasty building reminded me of silver dollar city
Shoot, when I asked about it a while back, someone said it was still there and open (haven't been out that way in a while)
It hasn't been open for a few years. Only one left is I-240 and Penn.
Amazing they lasted so long... The one on NW Expressway operated for 25 years and the southside location perhaps longer.
If they'd advertise, they might still be around
The new owners of the Pioneer Pies lot is:
CARSMETICS OF OKLAHOMA LLC
They bought it in October. It had been a Pioneer Pies since 1976.
If it's the Carsmetics franchise it's a car accident repair and body shop.

Pete, they had two north side locations, one on Britton Rd in the Village area.
Correct it was Hefner Rd.
Hard to argue with that. I don't think I have ever seen any advertising for them at all. Period. (Not to say they haven't, just that I haven't seen it). I haven't been to one in years (maybe decades now) but remember as being good, just not a regular haunt. Always a little surprised to see the one on 74th with decent amount of cars in the parking lot and still in operation. Especially considering the myriad of places that have come and gone along the same stretch.
Last time I went to the location on NW Expressway was about 5 or 6 years ago, and it was severely dated and the food was terrible. Not what I remembered as a kid going there.
the food at the south location is pretty good. the pies are excellent. good place for for people looking to get out with a baby or young kid.
Agreed
Drove by the 74th store tonight and their lot was packed. need to get by there again
That location originally opened as a Jimmy Dean's restaurant. It lasted maybe a year or two before shuttering, then becoming a Pioneer Pies. Pioneer Pies isn't a fancy place (obviously), its just a comfortable family place with very traditional offerings. Haven't been there myself in many years, but they always had good pie
Didn't even know about the Jimmy Dean's. When was that? If before 87-88 was before I had moved back.
Been Pioneer Pies as long as I can remember
