Geez Metro. How does saying that the webcam needs to be zoomed out equate disrespect towards Pete exactly? Looked like a harmless comment taken out of context to me.
Maybe I missed it, but have there been any renderings of the auditorium posted? I see that it is now well on its way as well. In the original renderings there is just a bandshell in front of the lower section of the complex. Would be grateful if someone could post images of the auditorium rendering.
These are the only two that was posted.
If I remembered correctly, someone posted about preferring the view to be more upward to see the tower. I don't know if that was changed or not, but for now, people inside get the water or lawn view.
Wow! Really beautiful! Thanks Thunder.
This is a truly elegant building and I think it will complement the tower just fine. I used to work for ING here in Amsterdam and we also had a glass wall in our auditorium. The solution there were shades and curtains, but given current technology, I would not be surprised if there was a liquid crystal film that went opaque on que. Very exciting.
I believe that will be a feature with these glass, because the glass will do the same on the tower.
The webcam is zoomed out as far as it will go, but we are going to try and tilt a bit more skyward.
It's a shame you can't zoom out anymore. Losing the ground as a reference point will make it difficult to track the progress. But, I know you're doing the best you can with the equipment you have, Pete. It's greatly appreciated. It's a testament to the enormity of this building and even more impressive, to say the least.
I was able to finally see the building in person this past weekend. It's going to be incredible when it's finished.
I took a few pics with my camera phone, which is HD capable. The quality didn't turn out quite like I hoped, but gave a good idea of how tall the tower is getting in relation to the surrounding buildings.
To whomever has done it, THANK YOU for the upward tilt on the construction cam! (big smile)
View from the Petroleum Club this afternoon via a friend.
Why isn't there a camera in that position??!
Nice pic. SkyWest.
Tell your friend thanks. And thanks for posting it! I noticed that the floor heights and the segments for the crane are roughly the same height. Looks to me like the operating booth of Crane 1 is sitting at the height of the 39th floor (big smile)!!
Just making note of it, but every time I open up the Skyline Cam page it loads with the camera equal in height to the construction of the tower, but as soon as it plays live, it angles downward... Kinda sucky. What up with that Steve?
That is an awesome view! On another note, did they pour concrete on top of the mechanical structure above the podium buiding? It looks smooth and gray now. I am probably in a minority but I liked the camera view on the lower part because the tower floors are repetitive.
Awesome pic! Looks like the Myriad glass is complete?
