    At this point, I'd rather see Capel replaced. His performance has been lack-luster the entire time he's been there. He seems like a great guy, he just doesn't seem to be able to put together a consistent team. And then with as many people leaving the team before this season, it makes it that much more difficult to get things going again.

    I disagree with characterizing his performance as lackluster.

    He was under a terrific burden his first with Sampson recruits departures and NCAA sanctions yet fielded a team exceeding expectations.

    Capel seems like a coach trying to stay clean and do things the right way. If it means kicking off marginal students (Keith Clark, etc) rather than coddle them, he's done so.

    Despite all these hinderences, Capel went 53-18 in his next two years. You can't call that lackluster.

    The worst mistake Capel may have made was the hiring of Oronde Taliaferro (Willie Warren's uncle). As I see it, his worst decision.
