I really hope that the thread doesn't die because I just found the thing a couple of days ago and have had a blast reading the posts. It has really brought back memories for me. I hope to attend one of the meetings soon as well. I'll try to get the Spartan numbers up because just like the old days it seems that the Generals have us outnumbered. Virus? I'm glad I missed out on that.

I was in between, graduated (that was a true miracle) in '80. My two older brothers were there with SoonerGirl. One of my brothers died in 1980 the other is still very good friends with her.

I had at least one cousin or brother at SE from 1950 until 1968, then my family gave the SE staff a rest until I got there in '77. Then the staff needed a long rest after me. None from my family until the schools closing in '90 (my brother's kids went to Moore schools). But we hit them hard when the school re-opened. My step-daughters graduated from SE in 2000 and 2004 and one of my sons in 2001. My other son graduated from Moore schools in 2002. We have lived in Stella for 6 years now and my youngest step daughter just graduated from McLoud in 2010 and is a freshman at the top university in the state. GO POKES!

I am trying to find relatives of the late Doug Campbell who was a musician in the Oklahoma City area. He passed away in the year 2000. At that time he had a daughter, Cristy Bryant, who was living in Norman. He also had a wife named Jerry that returned to Oklahoma from Nebraska after his death. Doug also had two sons, Doug Jr, and John David. I would appreciate a phone number for any of these people - if you know of them.

Since I don't know where else to put this...

There was a question at one of the meetings about Hippies in the late '60s burning a casket in a park. We couldn't remember the name of the event or where it was exactly. Well, I saw a show about it on the History channel. It was on Oct. 6, 1967 in the Haight Ashbury District Of San Francisco. It was called "The Death Of Hippie."
