I saw an interview of the cast for the current movie Hawaii five-O...only one of them could remember the names of the previous actors....You know, The FBI story has not been mentioned on this thread... probably spelling it wrong but Efram Zimbelist Jr. had his horse trailer custom made in Chickasha, Oklahoma...I had met the owner of the trailer company and he said he received a call every day on the progress of the trailer.....I think it was for his daughter Stephenie.

I had the 45 for Washington Square and it was one of my favorites. I just recently sold all my collection of 45's from the 60's to the Golden Oldies record shop on S. Western. I didn't get that much but I didn't have any way to play them any more and didn't want them to just finally get thrown away. Hopefully someone will still enjoy them some day.

One of the greatest modern blues instrumentals is by ...ready for this?...PAUL REVERE & THE RAIDERS!! The flip side of the 45 for "Just Like Me" is a 5:05 instrumental called "B.F.D.R.F. Blues" that blows my mind.

Thanks for the link jmr. I guess it wasn't an instrumental after all, but I still like that nasty saxophone. I wiki'd PR&R and had no idea they had a 5 year history before they donned the costumes.

You know you are old...if you ever went with your Dad to some grocery store with tubes from the TV set to test them to see if they needed replacement. What a crap-shoot that was! Ha!

I used to scavenge tubes from old radios & TVs just to test them at 7-11. It made me feel like I was piloting a rocket ship; looking up the tube numbers, setting the 3 or 4 dials according to the chart, waiting for the tube to warm up and compare the readings with the chart.

Remember how very UNRELIABLE TV's were in the 1950's...the repair man was always like a member of the family...chatting from behind the set whilst everyone awaited the revival...

Yup, those tubes where a pain and sometimes you had to hit the TV on the top or side to keep the picture from rolling over and over. LOL

And you hung-on to that TV until it exploded, or some thing similar happened. Our channel tuner started giving us fits. You had to turn to the station you wanted and then lodge a butter knife in the dial or it would not hold the station.

I had forgot about the necessity of a good hard slap on the old Admiral to steady up the picture...and look at what those crappy old B&W sets cost back then...in adjusted dollars! Vertical and Horizontal were crucial controls back then...ha!

For some reason a TV show popped into my head that I hadn't thought about for years but I never missed it when it was on in the mid 70's. It was a soap opera parady called "Mary Hartman Mary Hartman" and was another Norm Lear production. Louise Lasser was amazing and the dialogue was incredible.

Another TV show from my youth popped into my head tonight. Many of you are probably too young to remember this but I watched it all of the time. It obviously looks silly and dated now but as a child in the 50's it was a lot of fun.
