Since I am as old as the Pleistocene...I can still remember when downtown Norman had brick streets and the old Interurban rails went right down Main Street--they are still there--under the asphalt...

I know football pretty well from both sides of that town--OU and NHS...I even remember when Norman 'hoods' and Capitol Hill 'hoods' had some pretty exciting fights at the football games there...and the same thing with Putnam City...and Ada...

Call me stupid, but I had no idea how fast those street cars could move. In my mind they were in town moving at snails pace. It reminded of the old Remington Park commercial a few years back. "Go Baby Go"! I would love to ride those. It would be a lot less stress then driving myself.

Go to San Francisco and watch the tourists get flung off the sides during turns! Happens all the time, though they are cable cars technically, they operate in a similar fashion...

Then you can also remember the Hall family feud when then Gov. David and his sister went head to head over paving over the bricks. Too bad she had to lose. Brick streets were neat. So was the NW Highway back in the day when it was a 3 lane road to Okarche after they had removed the Interurban's tracks, but left the bricks. Hard to tell which was rougher, the bricks or the concrete.

Getting a little off subject but NHS won the state championship when I was a freshman there.
