purty!
Steel!!!!!!
This is to the north of where the rotunda will be.
^^ Nice pic ndmoore!Every single time I go dt or drive by there is something new to look at!This tower is flying up quick!
metro, I didn't dismiss Renaissance at all. It is our tallest hotel, at 15 floors and definitely is OKC's most modern hotel. I didn't dismiss it at all. I only said most of the high rises outside of downtown are the same height, with Valliance being the exception (but it itself not too much taller than Mid America).
Because of this, I am happy those buildings are where they are, because if they were in downtown they would be considered in-fill (just like similarly heighted Renaissance Hotel is). Valliance would barely change the skyline downtown unless it was away from the CBD cluster but still downtown.
Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!
as an OKC expat, I have a request.
can somebody do a drive by of downtown again? we have seen a lot of pics close up, but I would like to see the tower's impact on the skyline now. I have viewed the KSBI cam but it is too far away. I would like to see what it looks like from I-35 and from I-40 E/W and /I-235 near and far and I-44, and WRWA if it is visible from those points. Most of the close-ups, while interesting, are really just the same shots and not any 'different'.. ..
by the way, why has KSBI had it's NW cam not pointing at downtown the last few days? I had viewed the cam the past few days and couldn't see the skyline but instead some field. Why would the EVER move that cam away from downtown? Thanks in advance.

Here is a Little different angle. view from the parking garage next to the ford center.
oh, Thank you Bryan!
Excellent pic. I'm anxious to see the skyline pics ESPN will use for tomorrow's Thunder game. This gives us a good idea of one they could use from the Ford Center, hopefully with a LOT more activity going on in the plaza. ...

Wow! Thats amazing! Thanks Bryan! The glass looks incredible!
Personally what I'm waiting for is for the tower to top out over the Oklahoma Tower - when it does that, I think it will be visible from every angle, including North, which is where I am driving from in the mornings. Quite awhile to go before then though.
They are about to starting adding glass to the 9th floor.
They have also installed some cables for the "Cable-net curtain wall". I'll try and get pictures of this at lunch.
I believe the steel structure show below will be for the square entrance on the north side of the rotunda:

'AWE'some!
Great pics!
Thanks for the pics..
Is it okay to fall in love with a building? <3
It's OK...
beautiful!

Someone mentioned something about the KSBI NW Tower Cam being pointed to the northwest and not the southeast. I texted Jake Charles and he fixed it for us. You're welcome!

Is the Chase tower actually rectangular than square?
Devon will be taller, but which one is thicker? It is hard to determine when driving by.
Looking at a closeup of ndmoore's great photo, it looks like the horizontal metal fixtures running above/below each pane of glass may contain the lighting elements.
In order to light up the whole building, there would have to be a way to project light onto the windows and I bet this is how they do it. And the vertical mesh panels would help keep the light separate and delineated.
I know at Barcelona's Agbar Tower, they have an LED lighting system which allows for thousands of colors for any one pane of glass and I'm really hoping Devon is installing something similar. It allows them to create virtually any type of graphic on the building and even moving images. Imagine the tower all lit up in Thunder colors! (Or even spelling out Thunder or creating a 850' image of Kevin Durant!)
