Also, Capitol Hill's Football team Beat OU someone back then....Her husband was on the OSU Basketball team with Henry IBA as coach and he played against Wilt Chamberlain...Lots of History there but hard to get her to turn loose....
I use to go to those Rodeo's when I was about 5 years old!!

I attended the CHHS Class of 2010 Commencement this evening, at the request of a current teacher.

I was very impressed with the students, staff, and facilities. We hear way too much about the bad kids while 116 graduated this evening. 7 are members of the National Honor Society. A mixture of races, white, Hispanic, black, American Indian, and one Vietnamese.

A very enjoyable evening with a great bunch of kids.

I heard that over 90% of the graduating class had just over a 0.50 gpa.

The band director from the early 1950's is a very dear friend of mine. That'd
be Dr. Mel. Our offices are adjoining.

That would be twice as high as the Grant average.

At least we know what time school starts.

I graduated from CHHS in 1981. Our class size was 219 and 25% of us were in the National Honor Society.

I "borrowed" this photo from a current teacher at CHHS. Note the 2 mascots far right and far left. They had done away with that when i was there in the early 70's. Anyone remember when was still going on before that?

    [B]CHHS Auditorium Balcony Seating Available[B]

If you would like to have a piece of CHHS history, the second floor balcony at CHHS is being renovated soon and the seats are going to be sold in sets of 3 for $100.00. The money will go towards furnishing a new room that will have memorabilia from all years of CHHS. Also, if anybody has anything to donate to the room, it will be appreciated. You can contact Teresa Trail at tjtrail@okcps.org.

Hey, is there anything we can do?..Let us know...we joke around with each other but, we're still a rather large family. Also, Dan Sheaffer (Pastor formerly of Crossroads Cathedral) passed away yesterday...Let's keep his family in our prayers also. It seems to be or sound as a cliche' but so many people in their time of loss would appreciate a true "Stop, drop and Pray"....Thanks guys and gals...

I just heard about Pastor Dan. I just saw him a few weeks ago when I was having lunch at Stuffed Olive. He was with his wife... and I think with his daughter and son-in-law. I didn't think he looked too good health-wise then. May he rest in peace.

He was rather flamboyant but, he definitely a man of God. I cherish the fact that I knew him as a friend as well as my pastor.....My prayers are with Bonnie (his wife) and their family....

    Papa OU,

You got me thinking about this and I remembered this from "69" class. Hope I get this link attached right. We're talking about the mascots, right?

Good find. I have seen that photo before. I just don't remember them being active 71-72-73 when I was at school. Great photograph.

I think I remember, the mascots were still there when I graduated in 1970. I knew the girl mascots, had several classes with her. She was the 1969 Homing Coming Queen, cheer leader and a 4.0 student. I have often wondered what ever happened to her. I had the biggest crush on her my soph and Jr year. Of course, nothing ever came of it, she was way out of my class! I can't tell who the male mascot is.
