Give me an example, please. Take one of my posts and show me where I wasn't writing correctly.

I guess everyone on Twitter butchers the english language, as well... The internet isn't serious business. I'm not here to please anyone with correct writing, but I would like to see what I did wrong, just for fun.

Oh and if you think people can't get paid to write a messy script, look at this.

    http://www.dailyscript.com/scripts/Lethal_Weapon_4.pdf

Yeah. Tell your friends who won emmy's, that they're trying too hard when they don't need to. Stories sell screenplays.

Here is what the agent told me via email -

"This screenplay features an interesting premise and some epic action sequences that could look incredible on screen. You have clearly put considerable thought into your world, and it feel thoroughly rich and fascinating. You also have a clear ear for action, and have written some clever action scenes and battles. The screenplay also features an interesting and diverse cast of characters and feels mythic and epic."

Notice he misspelt "feel?" He should have put an "s" there. Imagine that...

    Here's another -

"The screenplay is very well written."

I don't know. Despite the agent misspelling a word, and having a lack of proper punctuation, I would believe him the professional over some random Joe on the internet. You have friends out there winning Emmy's, not you.

I would like to see you quote one of my posts, and show me where I was butchering the language and how.

EDIT: Hey Thunder? Where was that sign located? I went by there and didn't see it. We're you just joking?

I would buy that if I didn't see movie after movie and TV show after TV show butchering the English language every day. Take a look at most scripts, they are not works of literary genius. Someone with an English degree is probably over qualified.

Here are the first two scenes from Jaws. Great movie but basic dialogue

    BEACH
    Cassidy: What's your name again?
    Chrissie Watkins: Chrissie!
    Cassidy: Where are we going?
    Chrissie: Swimming!
Cassidy: Slow up, slow down! I'm not drunk! Slow down! Wait I'm coming! I'm
    coming! I'm definitely
coming! Wait, slow up! I can swim -- just can't walk or dress myself.
Chrissie: Come on in the water!
Cassidy: Take it easy. Take it easy.
Chrissie: Oh! God help me! God! Argh! God help!
    Cassidy: I'm coming... I'm coming.
Chrissie: It hurts! It hurts! Oh my god! God help me! God please help!

    BRODY'S HOUSE
Martin Brody: How come the sun didn't use to shine in here.
Ellen Brody: We bought the house in the fall, this is summer.
Ellen: Somebody feed the dogs, huh?
    Martin: Right.
    Ellen: See the kids?
Martin: They must be in the backyard.
Ellen: In Amity, you say: yahd.
Martin: There in the yahd, not too fah from the cah. How's that?
Ellen: Like your from New York.
Michael Brody: Mom I got cut, I got bit by a vampire.
Martin: You guys were playing on those swings. Weren't -[Phone rings] Stay
off them, I haven't fixed them yet!
Ellen: I think you're gonna live.
Martin: Hello, yeah ---- what the hell do they usually do, wash up or float
or what? Ah nah, nah, nah keep him there. Keep him there, I'll be out in
about fifteen... fifteen, twenty minutes. All right. Okay. Gotta go, missing
person. season hasn't started nobody's even here yet.
Ellen: Listen chief, be careful will ya?
Martin: In this town? --- Hey!
Ellen: David, lemme get on. I want my cup back!
    Martin: You'll get it
    Ellen: Okay. Wave good-bye. Bye!

Exactly... Swake has no idea that those who want to butcher scripts, can still get them sold, as long as they're good stories.

When an agent tells me, however, that my screenplay is "very well written," I am going to take his word for it. It can't be worse than Lethal Weapon 4's script, which suffers from endless one-word sentences.

The guy got paid 1 million plus to write that script.

The agent wants to me to have the protagonist hit if off with a female he grew up with. I was trying to break the tired cliche of the good guy always getting the girl. I guess, though, that they want everything to be the same as previous movies before it.

EDIT: To answer the person who asked what I have written before. I have written a -

    - Horror/comedy
    - Drama
    - Action/adventure (the one the agent likes)
    - comedy

I am in the process of writing another action film, and I have my own trilogy in the works.

EDIT: I would still love for someone to take one of my posts, that didn't look rushed, and show me where I had misspellings and inproper use of punctuation.

I never said an agent was a necessarily a writer.

As for an example of your “work”, there are many, but this particular sentence is epically bad:
To those asking about the county assessor... Like I said, I have a friend who has ran his own business and been doing all that jive stuff for a while now, and he is also somehow linked to this OKC Market Center thing (again I can't say because my friend was told to keep his mouth shut), and he stated that with businesses, you won't see it until the anual timeframe for it to be listed, which should be some time in 2011.
Massively run on, broken syntax, bad conjugation, mismatched conjugation and misspellings. This sentence is hardly the only example. You seem to fear periods for some reason.

This sentence from your last post is pretty bad too:
I guess, though, that they want everything to be the same as previous movies before it.
    And I’m no English major.

Did the agent sign you? Is he/she local? What other writers does this agent rep?

LoL, and what is the blue palm tree about? Is the Market Center going to have a tropical theme?

Actually, a run on wouldn't be broken up by commas. I was upset and rushing when I wrote that, because face it, no forum poster is going to write like an english major when they're posting on the internet. People are on the forum to make posts and chat, not impress someone with correct sentence structure.

The agent I am talking with is out of New York. That's all I can say. I haven't been picked up yet, because he is waiting on me to revise my script.

I will tell you peeps (see, not trying to impress) what. I will upload my script either today or tomorrow here, as a PDF. You guys can read it, and tell me what you think.

You guys can also say you have a copy of the script before anyone else. I caution against borrowing even one idea of mine, as this script has been copyrighted for some time now.

You're quoting a news story where the collumnist speculated, instead of getting into contact with the girl who bought the mall.

The website doesn't work, but is still there. The domain is in effect until May, 2011. It could have been taken down, because they want to spruce it up, or they want to surprise people, but many found out about the site and spooked them.

    No one knows for sure.

Read the article again. It confirmed there is NO deal to sell the mall to anyone right now.
Alas, Price Edwards & Co., would-be sellers for the Fed, as property manager and leasing agent for Maiden Lane, cannot talk about or even acknowledge any pending deals, under penalty of law.
Alack, there is no contract to sell the mall, Price Edwards' Jim Parrack said Friday. Crossroads Mall is still for sale for $24 million. Next!
That was said instead of a no comment speaks volume about the "deal". OKC Market so far is a gimick that is going no where. It was supposed to close at the end of July 2010 and that date has long passed. Someone cooked up a good story about the mall and everyone fell for it.

We have actually talked about all this when that story first came out before the thread became a zombie, secrete tunnel, screen writer thread. I'm sure megax will talked about how there are non-disclosure agreements and that a deal has already been signed, but they haven't talked about it yet and it isn't listed on public records yet.

Conspiracy theories just sound so much cooler. LOL

We know there is someone who wants to turn the market center into reality, thats about all we know. There have been many instances out there were development groups out there who has spent a lot more money and time on websites proposing grand plans, but ultimately fail.

Its kind of assume its meant for the general public if a website is published. There is no reason to have a working website as a "placeholder". If they were trying to promote it to a potential investor without the public knowing they would just send an email with the power point attached to a potential stakeholder or send them some marketing material in the mail.

Whats more plausible is that someone is trying to gather support for their market center idea so they leaked the name to someone who works at the mall. They then took the website down when people at this forum started bad mouthing the website over its qualtity.

If this is a campaign to build hype, what has this campaign accomplished? It just got buried with the dozens of other rumors having to do with crossroads mall. Only a few thousand people(if that much) who read this thread know all the details about the maket center and thats not saying much.

I think theirs a good chance a revamped website comes back, but its the tone of the website that matters. Will it still be a sales pitch or will it be informing the public of something that is actually happening?
