Thread: Flushing the Current Plumber - need a good one!

Angry Flushing the Current Plumber - need a good one!

The plumber we've had for years suddenly decided to start over-charging and doing substandard work - after we've spent over 15K and had him do our work for 10 years.

Liszeski Plumbing charged us $886+ dollars to put an inline sediment pre-filter between water softener and water supply. The job took him an hour and a half, counting replacing a bypass valve and the parts costed out at $100. He flat took advantage of my S.O. (who because of medication and other health issues doesn't comprehend as well as in past) by overstating the job. $400 an hour is ridiculous and is nothing but gouging a senior citizen.

Long story short - we need to have a plumber that we can trust for the frequent plumbing jobs that go along with a 60 year old house. Nothing urgent - does anyone have a particularly trustworthy plumber? TIA! Cheap not required - but fair is!

Ron Mayab (Ronco Plumbing) is excellent. He is out Mustang way, so I don't know if that works for you.

We found Water Boy's Plumbing on AngiesList.com (had lots of great reviews) and hired them and were very pleased. It's an owner/operator, he's very nice, professionally dressed and good rates.

We had a leak in an extra bathroom. We wanted the old copper pipes cut off and a shut off valve added and new flexible water lines. We also had a severely leaking outside faucet. He fixed both for $109 and cleaned up after himself and explained everything he did. 735-3210 Chad

Thanks to Penny and BBates! I'm not picky on where they're from in metro area, as long as they are licensed for MWC. I'll check them out!

We are in SE OKC near Tinker so he definitely works your area.

I highly recommend Royal Flush Plumbing (MWC/Del City area). Glen Hagstrom is the owner/operator. His prices are fair & reasonable and he definitely knows his way around older homes. He put a new hot water tank in at my grandmother's week before last, charged about $400 less than a few other places we called. He's the only plumber my other grandmother ever used, the only one my parents use.

Thank you to all responders - now I've got a list of go-tos! I don't have an immediate need, but the track record of my house is about once a month and we're getting close.

Solution... Don't throw toilet paper in the toilet. Throw them in the trash can and regularly throw out the trash. This will greatly improve your plumbings.
